I always decline the car rental insurance when renting. Have you had any experience with your credit card company covering any damages to your rental car?

I'm interested in what others have to say about this. On most cards, its my understanding that EVERYTHING is covered on the credit card.

Yes. It works. Simply decline the coverage and you're good. Some cards are starting to cover damage on cars rented While in another country as well.

and i dont think they tell you this but i'm pretty sure all rentals have insurance on them in some capacity, what you would be declining is the supplemental insurance (an increase in coverage)

Are you speaking from personal experience? if so, what card did you use?

Yes. Personal experience. I used a Citi AA card last August and the car got damaged and I was covered. The Citi Executive card has international coverage.
