CPA Review Course...can't decide between Roger or Wiley CPA Excel

Anyone have any experience with either?
Both offer multiple choice and practice exams that pull questions from the Wiley test bank so they're even on that point. Price point is the same as well.
I've watched some reviews of both via thecpaguide.com and they both offer great service and and have pass rates at 88% for first time takers.
The main difference I can tell is that Roger's lectures tend to be a bit longer but he is more animated and seems to make the lectures a little more interesting. CPA Excel's lectures are a little shorter so they're easier to digest but seem a little dryer.
Any advice is appreciated. TIA

I used Becker. But with that said; Id chose the option that makes sitting and staring at the computer screen somewhat better than it would be otherwise. I'd take the more animated guy myself.
Becker did a great job of teaching the materials but making you laugh along the way.

I know Becker is the industry standard but without a firm helping out, it's just too expensive for me when there are other options that have the same pass rate and offer the same accessibility.

Do the questions over and over and over again. That's how I passed FAR. For all other Sections I kind of studied with Becker without watching the lectures.
Gleim is pretty cost effective too. Gleim's format isn't as sexy as Becker, though. I don't know jack about Wiley.

I'm doing Becker right now and it's not worth 3500 dollars or whatever it is, however if you are paying for it on your own you can qualify for a 50%scholarship. As for the others I don't really know but Becker is only the industry standard because weak minds like mine need to be forced to study.
Also it is good to hear that someone did well on the CPA without watching those awful Becker lectures. I think I may just start doing the homework, other questions and note cards exclusively because I retain nothing from the lectures.

You will have to call and ask, a few of the kids in mine don't have firm sponsorship so they got these tuition reimbursements or whatever.

gotcha...everything I've been seeing has said that Becker isn't worth the money

I definitely think it is the best way to pass. I would equate it to BOSE head phones, they are the absolute best but their marginal benefit does not exceed marginal cost.

CPAExcel never expires, so once you buy it, you are set. I know Becker expires and makes you buy again if you don't pass within the timeframe.

That is one of their strong Pro's IMO. Roger has 12 month time limit and then sells 6 month add-ons for $200 a piece.

In all honesty, if you are disciplined enough and put in the time to study, you can't go wrong with any of them. I haven't taken any parts yet, but I bought Audit materials from CPAExcel a few months ago. A few things came up and I haven't been able to find the time to start studying again, and its nice to know I can update the study materials at any time for no extra costs.

you're probably right but since it's close to 2,000, I'd like to get one that I'm 100% happy with.
Excel is giving away an iPad mini when you book so I may jump on that, for study purposes only, of course

Roger's cram course saved my career. Becker is a gigantic fricking waste of money unless you are unemployed and have all day to sit in front of it.

I did the Gleim. By far the cheapest (I got no upfront help paying for the materials or the exam, I got a bonus after I passed). If you can self-study and self-motivate, the Gleim is the way to go.

Look into Yeager CPA also. Roger CPA was cool in the demo videos, but watching Roger jump around and make silly songs for 3 hours would make my head explode.
They all have different angles to teach the same material, and at some point they will all be boring. I think Yeager provides the best mix of value and pass rates, all while not making you want to drift off to sleep. They have a package with Wiley where you use Yeager videos and books, and also get the Wiley test bank. You can register online and put in a target date for the exam and they will build a study schedule for you based on how much you want to study each week.

I think I've decided to go with ExcelCPA with the Wiley test bank. Their courses are broken down into small, digestible amounts and there is no expatriation date for the courses. Also get a free iPad mini which is kinda cool. Probably gonna use that to study on the go. Thanks for everyone's suggestions.
