Trade in all day long is 500.00.
Let me look up what auction could bring, and or private party.

Auction would offer 500-750, private party you could maybe squeak out a grand.
The age, miles, No AC is the main concern.

Any chance your mechanic would make an offer for it?
Posted on 6/22/15 at 2:31 pm to blackoutdore
That's always a good option. Many mechanic shops have several mechanics that will buy something knowing they can work on it themselves in their own time and fix it for less than you are being quoted.
Or go park it somewhere with the keys in it, lol

ve been looking at the 2012 Honda Accords SE with 40k miles going for $16k.
I would aim closer to 14.5-15k.

Coach Guidry,
I thought I got a good deal on a new 2015 prerunner in January. It was a 2wd TSS double cab package with 17 inch wheels. I talked them down a little and ended up paying around 28,900 before tax.
I know the packages are all over the place with dealer add ons, but does that seem to be a good deal?
Not that it matters too much now, But I just have to know.

Thats where the problem starts. I have no clue what they added and what the cost was. There could be 20 different packages on each vehicle. Thats why I love Honda. Its LX, EX, or EXL...very basic. No added "premium" package and stuff of that sort.

I figured it would be tough, without all the info. I feel it was a damn good deal with what I see on the used and new market with the same package types. Only the dealerships really know.
I respect the help you give us out here in the computer world. The wife drives nothing but Honda. When she gets that itch in the next couple of years, I`ll find you.

Whats crazy is some charge different from others for the same package. We have no packages. Car is as is. If you would like to add accessories; youre more than welcome.

I dont know if im overlooking something, but the one with lower miles is selling for less?
Both those prices are very solid. If you could get the rate down a little; even better.
As long as they do not have any crazy fees and or add-ons; you're in good shape on both.

Yea I can't figure out why the lower mileage one is less, and it is also Honda certified
Roll with that one.

Coach G, what would be a solid price range for a fairly standard Honda HRV. Probably looking into it in about 1-2 years for the wife and don't have a good idea yet of realistic prices for a new one

They have $485 processing fee
They should just call it $485 profit fee.

Yeah I bought a car last week and hammered them enough that they "waived" the doc fee. They still charged it on the sheet, but they upped their trade in offer by the same amount. Watching the sales manager hem and haw over it when I told him I knew it was straight profit was funny.
But I also paid their asking price on the car because it had just gotten in their inventory and I knew it wouldn't last very long, so they still made a nice profit on me, but I got the car I wanted at around the price I was comfortable paying.
