You better hope there is no English component to this exam.

Good luck, dude. Just realize going in that when it's over, you will feel like you failed it NO MATTER HOW WELL YOU DID. So don't sweat it.

Thanks JT, yeah I just need to remember to read the f'in question carefully!
Knowing the CFA, one question will most likely be "in Volume 5 page 497, how is an alternate definition of duration spelled?"
A)Maculay
B)Macaulay
C)Macauly
D)Macalae
Sometimes on those sample exams you have to remember a specific line out of 3000+ pages of reading!

As someone who may take this in the future, I'm just curious what your background is/your reason for taking the test?

+1. do you actually work in the field? i'm guessing if your location is baton rouge you're still a student

Yes I am a student and this is the first year that LSU has a class where you get credit for taking it, you have to be a senior or grad to take it though. I don't think i've ever learned so much yet still feel like I know nothing, its pretty intense with the vast array of topics and prolly 1 million formulas
My reasoning for taking it is that it directly applies to school cirriculum, and like my enrollment in MBA next fall, my strategy is to get them taken care of now (against common beliefs, but LSU will pay for it) because after your first job no one cares when you got them but that you have them.
I could elaborate (explain, defend, etc.) more but you can get the basics.
But if you ever do take it, DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE TIME IT TAKES (and im only on level 1!!!!)

good luck. i was interested in taking level 1 but i couldn't afford to pay for it out of pocket. i interviewed for a few jobs that would have payed for it but i didn't get them. tough job market in that field right now

I'll see you in MBA school too.

Man oh man that was one BITCH of a test, seriously I know why there is 30% pass rate (besides only 3/4 of the people showing up).
I feel that I have a chance to pass, but dang I might be taking it again in the spring!
