We aren't totally done yet, as we don't actually pick up the vehicle until Saturday, but so far, I have really enjoyed buying a car this way.

It seems that they go out of their way to make sure you have all of the information available before making your selection in providing zoomed in pics of any defects. Also, they say they don't sell anything that has been in an accident. AND you get basically 7 days (max 400 miles before a charge), no questions asked to return the car if you don't like it.

We didn't end up using them for financing, though they beat the rate that USAA offered us by .75%. I'm not sure if that would have changed, they didn't acutally pull our credit, they just got annual income and birthdates... Went with lightstream which has also been very easy and quick in addition to having the best rates.

I've been looking for a few months at 3 specific models, and I can say with a high level of confidence that the price they asked for this car was about the best I could have hoped for from another dealer, but I didn't have to negotiate this one. The price you see is what they charge. The only 'add ons' are taxes and a registration fee of like $85. My all in price was about 1,200 over the price on the site.

So far, so good. Will update after pickup.

I tried using them but they were way way over on any model I was looking at. I would have enjoyed trying them out if they weren't.

I used them as a resource along with Truecar, Autotrader, Craigslist, etc., to find a 1-2 year old CRV for the wife.

I don't believe in buying brand new cars because of the value loss.

I ended up just buying from a dealer because I negotiated such a good deal. The balance of power in car shopping has totally swung to the consumer if you're a semi decent negotiator.

We didn't nee the car so we had all the leverage. Salesman said that amazingly, even with all the resources available online, a lot of people still just walk in and pay sticker price.

I doubt the dealership made much money off me but they also invested little time. I researched, found the car, offered a price (below Bluebook), negotiated them throwing in a certified warranty and new tires and we were done in a few hours. Again, not a big sale for the guy but it was easy because I knew what I wanted and what I would pay based on the market.

The most annoying part of the process was having to meet with finance even though it was a cash transaction. But the guy was nice and let me put $5K on the credit card for points. Wish I could have done it all but $5K was the max they would do.

Generally positive opinion but a few hiccups, and some handled better than others

Ordered and had to cancel due to extensive travel popping up. Called them right away- agent said no problem, got it covered.... and then a week later I get a voicemail from a delivery guy saying he's at my house. Call carvana and they take care of it

About a month later once settled back at home to be able to receive and test drive I order a new option

Arrives -- light interior, with black totally mismatched floor mats, a little dirty inside and in good shape but definitely had omitted the 2-3 most noteworthy flaws. Still I'm pretty good shape and they mailed me a few bucks for the issues.

Decide to keep it and send all my paperwork. Month later still no title/registration/license plates. Have about 2 weeks on the temp tag left so I reach out -- "should be there by end of week"

No luck. Call monday- our apologies, seriously its en route, by end of week.

Friday I call cause my "advocate" has ducked me all week and the tag expires sunday. "We are showing it's on the truck and should be in your hands today. If you don't get it we can issue a fresh temp tomorrow

Still no luck, call back Saturday... "sorry nothing we can do over the weekend and I'm not even showing the paperwork has been processed so it'll probably be a week or so"

Everything came Thursday/Friday the week after the temp plates expired. They really had no explanation for why people had made up answers or ignored me and didn't do anything to make that right... but the cars good, price was good, and I won't say it was worse than a dealership despite some annoyances

I think I would have some reservations buying from the delivery model. Most reviews with issues came from the delivery process.

We picked ours up from the vending machine in Atlanta so we saw the car in person and got to take it for a quick spin before signing anything and starting the 7 day period.

If not for FREE returns I wouldn't have risked it. They claimed I was in during a special and because of that I felt more comfortable with them assuming all the risk.

Picked up the car Saturday morning. As far as the actual buying process, I literally can't imagine it being any easier.

We showed up, signed in, and they took us to the bay where our car was. Nobody following us around, no pressure to hurry up. We had all the time we wanted to really look the car over and test drive. They have a schedule to keep, so I'm sure they don't want you taking hours, but we spent 20 minutes going over the car, and then another 15 on a test drive by ourselves. When we came back, we spent 5 minutes signing paperwork, and we were done. And now, we have 7 days to decide if we want to keep it or not.

The only complaint, and its very minor, is that there was a pretty good nic in the paint that had been touched up but not identified in the pictures. However, its a used car, and I suspect if we'd just happened upon it at a regular lot, it wouldn't have given us much pause. It was more just the little surprise that it was there.

Definitely recommend. If we find the right car for the right price the next time we're in the market, we would definitely do it again.

Last update now that I've got registration handled-

They say that they register the car for you and you just get plates in the mail, but they can't do that in my state...still had to go down to the motor vehicle office and register, which is no big deal.

I called about 10 days ago to check on the process, and they said the third party that handles this part for them guaranteed to be done by the 22nd, and that they would call me to let me know when I can go finalize the registration...I ended up just calling my motor vehicle office to verify that they had received everything on Tuesday, which they had. No heads up from carvana that everything was done. Ended up having to pay a $15 late registration fee (only have 20 days to register new purchase) Again, just a minor annoyance to what has been an overall pleasant experience.

Sounds like we both had similar issues (registration services and the couple extra dings) but also otherwise easy and a good price.....

wouldn't push someone to do it, but wouldn't steer them away. Definitely get as much cleared up inside the ten day test as possible. Service and compensation for trouble was instant in that window, 11 and beyond it fell off significantly

Carvana is the car buying of the future, but you can still walk in to a brick and mortar dealership and negotiate a better deal.
