Car wreck insurance question

Got rear-ended (haha I know) about a month ago. Finally spoke to adjuster Friday and car is getting totaled. How long does it normally take to be able to get another car?

When I was hit and car was totaled, it took 1 week for them to total it, and two weeks before I had the check in my hand minus the payoff amounts that they send directly to the bank or whoever you financed with.

When one of our vehicles was 'totaled' by the other persons insurance company, I received the check in about a week. It was a lot less than I was expecting.

Do your homework and make sure you get top book value,
Secondly do not sign a medical release - make them settle the car first-
there is room for negotiation on the total of the car.
You should get retail value plus tax title and license
Went through this last year. Stand your ground or call an attorney

We have an Attny for personsl injury. We found a car yesterday that I think we'll miss out on

make a down payment and ask the dealer to hold or just finance it with the credit union and pay it off when the check comes in

What insurance company hit you? GoAuto, USAgencies, Safeway or similar and you may be waiting a while.
Most claims are separated between bodily injury and property damage and both sides want to settle as quickly as possible.
