Much easier to sell in person than to sell over the phone or by e-mail.
It's Business 101.
I understand but my business in is my office and it pays for the car. If I'm at the dealership, I'm not making money. Plus, I am the customer--my wishes should be honored dammit!!

I had the same problem. Not German car though. I told a local Toyota dealership I was seriously interested and ready to buy. Would not negotiate with me over the internet. Said I needed to come in to look at them. I told her once an acceptable price is agreed upon, I would come in. Haven't heard from Price Leblanc since. I guess it's a good thing there are other dealerships in the area.

As a younger guy...this is where I thrive. I can sell a car over text messages/email...no problem. The older guys cannot comprehend that method.

I do this with the cable company. Via email: Sir, you have to call in to cancel hbo. "No I'm good go ahead and cancel it"
Just this one time exception.
Ya right

Well you wouldn't happen to sell Tundras, would you?
Teddy...
No kidding. I am still paying for some ESPN insider thing I signed up for last year as a trial because I am too lazy to give them a call. Email is so much easier, but they wouldn't do it.
...that reminds me, I need to call ESPN.

You're doing OK so far.

They want to get you in the door above all else. I won't go to the dealer without a price in mind, and I'm not interested in spending a entire Saturday driving from dealer to dealer. I don't buy vehicles from dealers that won't give an internet price.
Some are more pleasant to deal with than others.

We've dealt with the worst from the worst. The most important thing is im making a very safe assumption you understand basic math.
Im sorry Mr Customer...a 40k vehicle with 0 down will not yield you a 250.00 a month note.

Yep. he hates me. Guess I'm not willing to spend what these cars cost. I was misled by some internet "specials" out there.
thanks for getting the dialogue going Coach. Much appreciated.

The last 3 vehicles I bought were over internet. I will not waste my time negociating in person when I can go to cars.com and find the lowest price in the country and fly there for 300$.

No prob. If it were a Honda I could make it happen but I stay away from the German side of the world for personal reasons. Hopefully you will get what you're looking for somewhere.

Is it Brian Harris? If so, I've had similar trouble. Started off great with test drive and looking at available inventory, etc. I didn't have a lot of time, so he jotted down some notes on my specs and my phone number. A week later he calls me back and seems like he has never talked to me before. I try to fill him in and say I'll email you. Sent the email, got one response, then silence. I'm in what seems like a similar situation. I can very easily be sold a car, but I in no way need this car.
Brian Harris must teach them that technique at orientation. I had the same experience with a wretched salesman named skip.

If you are not at the dealership and they don't have any of your money they give a grand total of zero fricks.
Take the time to go to the dealership and negotiate hard, drive to TX, overpay or don't get a vehicle. Sad but true.

Dealerships are idiots. Pass by every car dealership and theres hundereds of vehicles in the lot and they could care fukin less if they sell a vehicle.
