I recently came into a pretty good chunk of money and was thinking of investing a little of it in the volatile bitcoin market.

Until last night at work. A coworker led me to believe the department of homeland security intends to shut down bit coin in the USA.

Anybody have any information on this?

But if serious: I wouldn't touch it. Even the Bitcoin sunshine pumpers think it will ultimately fail. The other 95% of us think it's a scam.

Put it in a coffee can and bury it under a tree. Seriously. Heard an analyst say on Cavuto yesterday that "they", financial pundits, are saying that we could see as much as a 20% fall in the stock market when it starts heading south. Don't know how that might affect the coins but it would have to have some kind of impact.

Yes serious. Thanks for the reply. My thread was moved here from the poli board...probably rightfully. Never been here before.

Just have some extra cash to gamble with and I don't do the boats. Looking for a short term investment. Less than a year.

You'd be better off "investing" in a tech startup.

Email me - I own one. :)

Chances of losing your investment with me, 20%.

Chances of losing your investment with bitcoin, 50%.

Chances of making money with me, 70%.

Chances of making money with bitcoin, 10%.

Send me what you've got and ill take a look at it.

Depthphinder@yahoo.com

That account is already spammed to hell and back so I don't mind leaving it up here.

If serious, I'll take a serious look.

Are you saying this because you don't believe they should be used as an instrument for speculation?

I don't recommend risky investments to anyone.

Bitcoin is not ready for prime time yet. 2019 will be a different story, but right now, no.

I have found that most short term investments are risky. But I'll certainly take your word for it.
