What is the best/least expensive option out there for accepting credit cards? I will be taking them online from my website and in person some (swipe)...sometimes ill just have the numbers that I'll run (no swipe). Ill also take paypal on the website but thats a little different I assume?

Thanks!

I use Square. No contract, no account fees, just a flat rate of .0275% per transaction. Works for me, as I have very few CC customers & the Square swiper and app are free. The chip reader is around $40. If you use Square's point of sale system, it has an offline mode so you can swipe & the process a batch of transactions once you get into wi-fi range.

ETA--I post separate prices for cash and CC transactions. (This is a farmer's market setting, so most ppl don't bat an eye at the fee, they're just happy you take a card)

I'll check it out. I'm likely to have a lot of CC transactions and a bunch might be through my website.

0.0275% is RIDICULOUS. Your interchange probably isn't anywhere near .02%....

You're getting robbed. #fact

I do about $100 in CC transactions a month. The rate isn't gonna break my microbusiness, and options with lower rates are not feasible at such a low volume.

Mail sent

I'd bet most of my payments will be via CC or PayPal. If I was only doing 100/mo I wouldn't worry about it too much either.

What shopping cart are you using?

We're 100% online but we use PayPal for regular credit card transactions and for PayPal transactions.
