Any Thoughts on Paying for Season tickets with a Credit Card -- Some Credit Cards offer Better Rewards/Cash Back then others....I have Football , Baseball, Basketball and Saints Season Tickets.

I know I'm not to first to wonder about this, sometimes the language on these Credit Cards can be Tricky.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Big fan of the capital one saver. I use it for all of my T&E at work. 4% back on meals.

Like a Marriott or Hilton card depending on preference perhaps ?

You’ll crush any spend bonus on those with your tickets alone and rack up a few hundred thousand points for free rooms to go to the natty with

That’s one route to look at

A lot of those CC have some tricky language around those "cash back" or "rewards" benefits.

Gas , Travel , Entertainment , and Groceries

What % is tie to each

I like to know as well what CC could I use for my Tickets

Just no Capital One Cards, It will never be in My Wallet

I truly don’t mean this to sound dismissive, but there’s really no other way to word it: there’s nothing unique about football season ticket purchases. You’re functionally asking “what’s the best credit card for general spend” and the answer is a resounding “it depends on how you want to use the points and how much complexity you’re willing to tolerate in their redemption.”

whoa, depending on the card, they can classify them under different categories. One could be

General Purchase 1%
or
Entertainment 2% ar more

So Yes Football Season Ticket purchases can be uniquely different - depending on the card.

It's a excellent question for a person who decide on purchasing Season Tickets, How to make a smart purchase.

Apply for a new card with a large welcome bonus and put the spend towards that. I would do the Chase Ink Business Preferred. It's 100k Ultimate Reward points for $8k spend. the normal spend requirement is 15k. Really anything can count as a business for these cards. If you don't want to do that then the Chase Freedom cards have 5% back on live entertainment this quarter. However, that's on only $1,500 which you will easily max out.

Single ticket purchases through Ticketmaster, sure. But I’m not aware of any card that would categorize a transaction to, say, LSU TAF as an entertainment purchase. But if I’m wrong, please let me know. That would be very interesting information.

Why is that? I use it as my primary rewards card. Should I switch? If so, to what?
