It's neither roads or crime rate. It's all about the number of folks who DON'T buy insurance.

Basically, the insurance companies force you to pay for them. It's the deadbeats' fault, and really nothing else. F-ers!

I was amazed when I moved to Texas and my premium dropped about 50%.

I think LA is a horrible place for any insurer, period. Aren't like 3 out of the last 4 insurance commissioners behind bars?

Oh they BOUGHT insurance.. They just dropped it the second they got their car..

If they really want to fix the problem then they should require proof of insurance to CANCEL insurance.

Not sure if this is the case anymore, but used to if you were involved in an accident in LA but didn't have insurance, there would be no pay out for you even though you weren't at fault. I believe they called it "No Pay, No Play." So I could hit you and it be my fault but because you didn't have insurance, you were SOL.

Yea but those people that dont have insurance are going to the hospital and are going to sue you if that happens even if you tap them in a parking lot...

Its an easy fix..

You have state farm insurance you go to geico. You have to show proof that you have an account with geico before state farm has to stop charging you. You can only stop the process when you sell your vehicle or turn your plate in.

The DMV should require proof of insurance every year or your license is suspended.

LA is one of the most expensive insurance states, though. My insurance was cut in half when I moved.

That may be part of it, but the main reason is liberal arse judges & the high number of lawsuits. Want to fix it? Lower the jury threshold from the current $50k to $15k & allow 6 person juries for cases under $50k -- problem solved.

Doesn't do a damn good when they turn around and cancel the policy the next week...or the fact that the amjority of people here are underinsured.
