Verizon isn't going to risk anything by buying Sprint. At least not right now.

Probably going to happen why? ATT is responding to Verizon's move, they don't need to re-counter. There's absolutely 0 reason for them to try and purchase a business that is over-indebted, with a decreasing and/or marginally increasing customer base, and a completely different technology for both current and future phones. They have their own/superior next-gen service capabilities already in place, and they're going to organically grow their customer base, if from nothing else, than just the iphone. I see literally no reason for them to make that move, and if they did, I would hope that the CEO was fired within the hour of announcing it.
