ive been told numerous times from many professional individuals that im a great salesperson and would do fairly well in a sales field. I'm currently in sales but i wouldn't actually call it true sales. I've always been over par with convincing people to purchase things and find that it probably is my actual talent (of the few i have lol)... How would a person actually get into insurance sales?

If you can get an agency, then hell yeah it is worth it. I'm not completely familiar with ALFA since they aren't in LA, but I've met a few agents. Similar to SF and Farm Bureau agents, they make a pile of money if they are worth their salt.
A lot of work up front, but once you get your book built up and your renewals start rolling in, you set up a good staff, you can coast and make plenty money.
