I greatly appreciate your responses and feedback.
I spend probably about 65 - 75% of my time on Tigerdroppings browsing Money Talk. I have found that the audience here is much more helpful with regards to career and finance related topics.
My company is much more cutthroat to non-technical positions. Job security for the developers and the rest of our technical team is pretty high (I've only seen two people be laid off in the technical team). I have spent sometime this week working with my boss and discussing what is ahead, and the responses were mostly positive. Obviously some of that could be feel good talk, but overall these are steps in the right direction.
