A one loss LSU team with 3 top 10 victories (Bama A&M UGA rematch) would play the undefeated Pac 12 champion.

What about an undefeated ACC team that was able to beat Georgia in the regular season?

Look a few posts down...

I still think their schedule would weigh their case down and allow us to jump them. I'm not sure the same could be said of an undefeated Pac 12 or ACC winner.

Only UGA and LSU have potential to be a 1 loss and in. Likely won't happen, but I think Bama is def out w 1 loss.

Clemson would have beaten UGA and USCe plus Florida St.

PAC 12 has much stronger case than OSU. Louisville is out no matter what. The real question is if PAC/OSU and Clemson are all undefeated.

Still LSU would have strong argument if they run table and beat the only team that beat them.

But, this is a major uphill battle w our D.

Mett's great. But our defense is atrocious. And we're already effectively out of the NC race.

I don't understand how you can say this. Going 11-1 with our schedule and beating UGA in a rematch puts us in the title game (barring both Stanford/Oregon and Clemson/FSU going undefeated).

Im not saying it happens, but all goals are still very much attainable.

That's exactly what I believe will happen. Ohio State, Clemson/FSU, and/or Oregon/Stanford will go undefeated, effectively barring a one loss SEC team from being in the NC.

If the defense can get marginally better and the special teams hold up (of course assuming the muffed punt was a fluke), Mettenberger clearly has the skill and poise to help LSU win the rest of its games. As always in college football, there is a bit of luck involved in the ball bouncing your way and needing help from other teams.

If all of this happens and if LSU wins the SEC, i'll live with it just fine. We'll be ok. We came up short in a clash of the titans. It was a great game that could've been won if one or two plays go our way. Offense should give everyone reason to be excited.

Not with the defense we fielded on Saturday!! UGA proved your statement wrong.

UGA seemed to want the game a little more than LSU.

I didn't see that at all, I just saw an inept defense that has more holes in it than swiss cheese. Our front 7 is not getting it done plain and simple, just look at the stats they are giving up almost 5 yds per carry through 5 games. That dog won't hunt!!!

Anyone who thinks that we are going to win any championships without our defense improving dramatically, I only have one thing to say to them;

"Don't get high on your own supply"

There is a reason people say over and over again "Defense wins championships," it is because it is TRUE!

I'd rather a non-SEC team win it than Bama win it again. I'll root for Oregon.

at this point in the season, there are usually several undefeated teams that people think will remain that way.

It hardly ever happens.

LSU will have zero argument or chance if two out of Oregon/Stanford, OSU, and Clemson are undefeated.

Agreed, I have a feeling, however, that Louisville may be the only unbeaten at the end of the year.

Yea our SoS allows us to be the only team to go to BCSNCG with one lose if we win the SEC.

I agree a one loss sec can't get in w undefeated PAC/OSU and Clemson.

But, UGA can get in w 1 if USCe beats Clemson, and UGA beats an undefeated Bama in Sec champ. Not sure they get in by beating LSU again, but maybe.

Need Clemson to typically choke, and PAC 12 to have their undefeated lose in their champ game. OSU will run table bc it's a bush league schedule.

If sec team gets to title game I think PAC 12 team is bigger threat than OSU/Clemson.

Besides LSU, the rest of the Sec doesn't have a great record against the PAC 12
