LSU beat Ole Miss 14-0 in 1958, which vaulted us to #1 and the national
championship..
AP already had the Tigers #1 going into that game. The Tigers were #3 before the Florida game, then went jumped tOSU and Army to #1 after beating the Gators.
I was at the 58 game - I was a senior in high school; the visit to the campus that afternoon and the atmosphere at the game convinced me LSU was the place to go.

I think VT in 2007 should always be considered one of the best games in Death Valley. I understand that many people discount it because VT is not a traditional power (FSU, ND, USC, A&M) or an SEC team, but that beat down was by far one of the most impressive wins in the last 25 years for LSU. Combined with the amazing pregame show (paratroopers with USA, LSU, and VT flags coming down out of the rain in the dark sky), that game was one of the most enjoyable moments that I have ever had. Also, the head to head beat down vaulted us over VT at the end of the season. Had that game been close, LSU likely does not pass VT in the human polls and we would be talking about 2007 being one of the most disappointing seasons in LSU history.

maybe not top 5 but should be top 10. I am surprised no one remembers 1995 Auburn. Dinardo's first signature win early in his first season and an exclamation point on his Bring Back the Magic campaign. It was a huge, emotional win and vindication for QB Jamie Howard's awful 4th quarter at Auburn the year before. Troy Twillie seals the win with an interception in the end zone.

Florida 2007 - the build up, the game itself, and the epic cellebration all night afterwards will never be topped.
Florida 1997 - was a young buck at the time, will never forget the stadium emptying out onto the field.
Bama 2010 - loudest day game ever attended, and was so much of a needed and well deserved win for us.
Auburn 2007 - I will never forget that d Byrd catch as long as I live.
Southern miss? 1997 - can't remember exactly which game it was that year, but it was cold as he'll and was the last game I ever went to with my grandad.
