To the credit of these guys, no reasonable person saw 9-3 after troy. I'm an O supporter, at the time 6-6 was the ceiling.

You got the essence of it...
now, will anyone admit they underestimated things ?

I doubt it, many are not open minded, they are just haters.

Nice post.

Good for those guys. Now our team is 9-3. Who gets the credit there?

No matter how shitty LSU played against troy they were still more talented than every other team on the schedule sans alabama. The rational and less emotional posters understood this. The clowns you see in that screenshot are the same ones that predict losses after the first negative play EVERY game. You would think they would learn by now.

I wanted O gone after Troy. Didn't even think we'd make a bowl game. 9-3 and a chance for 10 is sweet.

LSU was favored in every game but one. This was pointed out over and over weekly by a number of people.

9-3 is a disappointment with this schedule and LSU’s talent.

No one could have predicted how bad our opposition would become.

Perception is a fickle thing. Looking at the big picture, 9-3 is a “meets minimum expectations in year 1” performance. It really did look impossible after Troy.

Because of that, people are acting like 9-3 is a miracle. Funny how Les’ 9-3 avg wasn’t good enough, but the remarkable turnaround makes Orgeron’s 9-3 a raving success in the minds of many.

He definitely didn’t let them quit. I’m looking forward to next year to see what happens.

I'll eat some crow as I thought he was done after Troy. I really hope he has found his footing and will continue with the momentum he has going. We need a strong bowl performance and an amazing close to the recruiting class in the worst way. 10 wins year one should not be subject to "yeah but" explanations.

Look, even I flip-flop between thinking CEO is a bad hire to a somewhat decent one (due to how he motivates his players). However, LSU was actually not favored to win the Auburn, Florida, or Alabama games. The young team grew up and had to find young leaders to step up as well. The season was able to be salvaged with a possibility of a 10 win season to boot. I give credit to Ed for keeping the boys motivated and focus on finishing strong instead of folding like FSU has.

Are we just not going to talk about how terrible the SEC was this year? ...And how that had to have helped?

LSU was favored in the Florida game and some of us even expected to win that game knowing how terrible Florida was this year.

Auburn you may be correct . I can’t remember the line on that game.

I wasn't quoted, and probably didn't make any wild predictions, but I didn't think we would finish above 500. Thank goodness it turned around. It would have been very bad for LSU falling into the sinkhole that Tennessee and Florida are in.

If O can'f do any better than this year we'll be firing him for the same reasons we fired Miles, but if he can at least maintain it at 8 to 10 wins we would be able to jump right back with a good hire. Hopefully he'll save us the trouble and start whipping Bama.

I'll never eat crow in a season where LSU loses to Troy. I didn't predict 6-6 though. Until we can beat Bama and challenge for the SEC, nothing really matters. I don't give a crap what bowl we go to, the paradigm has changed and it is playoffs or bust.
