It's going to be OK. Plenty of talent and a good staff. It was just a bad game against a more experienced team on their turf and things unraveled quickly....it happens.

Isn't that excuse reserved for Tennessee and A&M fans?

Well-I would like to think they have a "want" to be a balanced offense-still power run football-but unlike in the past, a more efficient passing game off multiple formations and motion. It will take a little time to pick up some of that but still-none of that matters unless you win in the trenches....

Well, maybe-but it is the truth. Let's see if anything is done about it!!!

Is this actually true? How many Jrs and Srs are in LSU's starting 22 compared to Miss State's?

I see 8 jrs and Snrs on LSUs starting O vs 8 jrs and Srs on MSU's starting D.

I also see 6 jrs and Srs on LSU's D vs 7 jrs and Srs on MSU's O.

Is that significant in your mind? Looks about dead even.

Remains to be seen

Debatable

Not for MSU

a more experienced team on their turf

If LSU has to use this excuse, they're in trouble

things unraveled quickly

I'll give you this one

it happens.

Oh, it happened all right.

If we were truly a young team I would maybe agree but we aren't.

Agreed that it was a "snowball" game that can easily happen on the road with a young team.

Problem is, I don't see us holding our own on the the L.O.S. on either side of the ball anytime soon. Maybe on the Dline when we're full strength, but O Line seems to be the glaring weakness. Nothing we do is set up to hide or work around that issue.

You have to admit all that shifting around, trying to fool somebody is becoming comical.

The problem is that "young" does necessarily translate to "good"......it's possible that we might be "young" and "bad"

Think it's done more to help recognize the Defense/coverage more so than it's meant to fool anyone.

Much more comical ways to fool the Defense are being utilized across the country in spread offenses.

O already said it, doesn't have four WR's to run offense.
You can blame Miles for running off all that talent that could help.
Oline depth is another major issue. If you can't win the trenches you aren't going to win many SEC games.
I said it for years, as bad as Miles was in coordinating the offense, Fournette and Guice basically saved him, I never wanted Alleva around a football hire. Let's hope he's not around for the next football hire.

Young team

The "young" excuse is bullshite. We can't be young every fricking season. This is from another thread:

This is not that young of a team.

QB- Etling Senior
RB- Guice Junior
RB- Williams Senior
WR- Chark Senior
WR- Gage Senior
OL- KJ Malone Senior
OL- Brumfield Junior
OL- Clapp Senior
OL- Weathrsby Senior
TE/Hback- Moreau Junior / JD Moore Senior

DL- Lacatoure Senior
DL- Gilmore Senior
DL- Clark Junior
LB- Alexander Senior
LB- Key Junior
LB- Thompson Senior
CB- Toliver Junior
CB- Donte Junior
S- Battle Junior

This team has their young spots but all of our teams do. There is zero excuse for getting boat raced by Mississippi State.

I thought the same on a few plays. Single wideout and a tight formation. The TE's swap sides. Then one goes in motion then motions back to where he came from and stops. The other TE then goes in motion... all to ram it straight up the middle.
It was obvious from the formation we were running inside, the shifting and bs did nothing. The defense literally didnt move or make any adjustment during the antics.

This Tigah Team will settle down. A lot of talent here. We knew at the beginning of the season we were thin in key positions. Coach Eeaux had to play a lot of inexperienced freshman. It'll take a little time for our young (and talented) guys to come up to speed. Hey what can I say? This is the brutal SEC (West). The loss against Mississippi hurts, and I know our boys (and coaches) hurt most of all. But I firmly believe we'll improve steadily. If we can just keep the injuries down (wishful thinking here) and allow our guys to learn in the school of hardknocks, at the end of this season we'll have a team that will make all TigerNation proud. Call me the foolish eternal optimist if you want but right now I firmly believe our boys (and coaches) will recover from this painful loss. What we (TigerNation) need to do is rally behind our team (and coaches) and support them. There's a whole lot of season ahead of us.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the sun has set in the west, it's Saturday night in Death Valley.

Coach needs to quit working on the penalties because whatever he's doing is just steadily making it worse!!
