but you can't deny that he is a pessimist. His emotional level is like that of someone on this board. Everytime Vandy scores it's like we should just pack it in and go home.

He's not a pessimist. He's calling the game like he sees it. To all the Hawthorne haters: you don't like it, don't listen.

Whenever we get down, in any sport, I almost expect him to say "oh well it's been a great season".

You're exactly right and that's why it's so hard to listen to him. I'm neagative person by nature, so I don't need him adding to it. I've never questioned his professional ability but his style in that regard leaves a ton to be desired.

shut the fuuuck up. Not a pessimist?? You are insane or have never heard him call any athletic event that we were losing. Don't listen?? How, he's only "the voice of lsu." How can you get around that other than listening online or watching a tape delay? You're a complete idiot.

It's his inflection. Everything Vandy does is easy. If we do it it's almost as if we got lucky.

It's not just this game. I listened to Arky (both games) online, Kentucky and Bama at home.

He does the same stuff in football. If a guy for Ole Miss catches a pass then he was wide open. Although last year that was probably true.

Hawthorne really needs to hang it up. "you don't call that kind of crap" WTF kind of announcing is that?
