Yes, it's time to move on from Miles, and here's why..

Let me start off this post by saying I am not your typical Les Miles hater. Honestly, I think Miles has done a good job of keeping the momentum going with this program after Saban's departure. He has done a great job of recruiting as evidenced by the numerous players in the NFL that used to be LSU Tigers. In saying all this, I firmly believe that it is time for LSU and Les Miles to part ways, and here is why....
All good things must come to an end, and I'm afraid that if LSU hangs on too long to Miles that this program could end up turning out like Texas. Now, I know some of you are thinking, "Come on man, LSU will never get as bad as Texas." My response to that is really? Do you really think Texas Longhorn fans thought their program would be where it's at today? I'm not saying it's going to happen. I'm saying it could very well happen if LSU doesn't cut ties with Miles.
It's not fair to the state of Louisiana, the program, the fans, and the players. LSU deserves more than what they are getting right now. Les has and will continue to produce 3-4 loss seasons with 4 and 5 star recruits. This is not acceptable at a powerhouse program. Bill Bellicheck said, "Players win games and coaches lose them." This could not be more true, especially at LSU. LSU's players have continuously won them games over Les's tenure and Les, yes Les Miles, has lost more games than I can count.
It is unacceptable to have inept quarterback development and play at a powerhouse program. LSU has consistently had 4 and 5 star quarterback recruits during Les Miles tenure at LSU. Only 1 Quarterback has been played above average, and that is Zack Mettenberger(a transfer who should have been at Georgia). Miles was extremely lucky to have had Zack land on LSU's campus.
LSU fans get this message every year, "This year is going to be different on offense. We're going to spread it out more. Not be as predictable." The offensive philosophy that Les Miles has is so outdated and elementary. It is sad that he forces the best athletes in the nation to play in a phone booth(As Kirk Herbstreit said on College Gameday). You have Trey Quinn(the nations all time leading WR in high school) who is not used. You have DJ Chark, who was raved about all off season, who hasn't been used. You have great Tight Ends, who are seldom used. You have arguably the best RB in college football history, and you force him to run toss ISO's and Power O plays only? There are no bubble screens, no dig screens, variations of the read option, etc. Hell, I think we're the only college football team in the past 10 years to actually run a 1 WR route. Am I saying that LSU should run a wide open Texas Tech spread? Absolutely not. But, you most certainly can not run an old school power offense with no creativity.
I am going to finish off my post with this statement. LSU is now a brand name in college football because of the work of the past players(Patrick Peterson, Tyrann Mathieu, etc), Nick Saban, and yes, even Les Miles. I firmly believe that LSU will continue to have Top 10 recruiting classes regardless of who is coaching. However, if LSU fails to be proactive and make a move with Miles, the program could be headed down the same road as the University of Texas. It has happened before and will happen again. I hope that LSU sees this, and makes a move with Les Miles.

Les Miles is a good man with a family, how could you just put him on the street like that?

He's going to have problems making it on his 5 million dollar salary. Let's give him a raise.

I can think of > $4,000,000 reasons every year

I just came to say I'm not reading all that.

el Gaucho are you serious? I don't think he'd have any problems as he's been making 4 plus million dollars a year. This is a business. You can't involve emotion just because he's a good guy.

Coach is 100% correct. The qb development since Jimbo left is completely unacceptable. I'm not looking for a guy who is going to put up Ty Detmer or Andre Ware types of numbers, but Christ at least teach the young man how to manage the game. There is a reason why Lsu'asst.coaches hardly ever get, or are unsuccessful at the HC position. They are poor teachers. Saban works particularly with his db's, Fisher, and Harbaugh with qb's etc. We have nobody, except for O and that's it. I really believe it's a country club atmosphere and it's proven with the stupid mental mistakes. Need someone who will run a boot camp. Cry and bitch about why Alabama hardly ever gets penalized. It's because the coach demands perfection.

The Daily Reveille - Les Miles' University pay doesn't tell full salary story
as of July 1, 2012
quote:
His new contract, approved Feb. 1 by the Board of Supervisors, established a “length-of-service” incentive that puts $150,000 per year into an LSU-controlled fund. Miles can only collect that money (totaling $750,000) if he stays at LSU until at least 2017.
quote:
So Miles’ $300,000 University pay doesn’t tell the full story. Even his base $4.3 million pay doesn’t account for the near $1 million extra Miles could earn each season.
quote:
None of this touches on Miles’ personal endorsement deals with the likes of Raising Cane’s. Few University employees could count on such lucrative side jobs.
These figures do not account for any raises since July 1, 2012.
