Qbs had over a 90 Rating when throwing his way last season.
That is 66th best in the league.
PP7 has improved every year and is only 23 years old, which is a lot younger than the other great corners. He'll be the best in 2 years IMO.
Right now, he's not a top 5 corner. You can't ignore the 91.3 NFL rating and 7 touchdowns against him. 3 interceptions and 6 PDs were pretty low for the amount of targets he had too.
Off the top of my head, I'd put Sherman, Revis, Talib, Haden, and Lewis ahead of him. Haden is the only young guy in that group and still has 2 years on him.

When are people going to realize that Peterson is getting paid for what hes going to be? And not for what he has done... He is still 23years old, turns 24 in a few weeks. Hes nowhere near the top of his game. Sherman is 26years old and currently in his prime. He got paid for what hes done. Joe Haden is 25years old and is right near / at the top of his game. He got paid due to a little bit of both... hes done some great things and will get a little bit better. PP has just started his climb to the top, and his ceiling is way higher than both of these guys.
PP is way more athletic than both of those guys and has the most room to grow and improve. And I think he will reach that potential because hes a hard worker with a great head on his shoulders and wants to be the best and will put in the work to be the best. Sherman and Haden have certain physical restrictions. PP doesnt. And hes 1 of the few players in the NFL that you can truly say that about. Same thing can be said about Calvin Johnson, Julio Jones, AP, JJ Watt, Joe Thomas, and thats really it.
And when PP reaches his prime , its going to be some of the best CB play the NFL has ever seen. Which is why hes going to get the big contract. Because in a year or 2, hes going to be playing at an elite level that only a few players reach. And will be doing it as a true shadow CB in a man to man system.
I really wish people would let this shite go. Especially the whole 'PP vs Sherman' debate and media circus. Hell, most people dont even remember what started that entire deal. All PP said was that he "would love to be paid like Sherman." Thats it. That is not a slight to Sherman at all, in fact its a compliment.
What did Sherman do? Had to go and be a dick and say "You wanna be paid like the best, you gotta put up the #s. Check the stats." Basically a slap in the face of PP and saying you dont deserve to be paid like me because look at what I have done compared to what you have done. Which is pointless considering PP is not even close to being in his prime and Sherman is. And Sherman is playing with the best safety combo in the NFL and in a zone scheme defense. Its apples to oranges.
Sherman is great and is the best at what he does in the NFL. But if he wasnt such a dick and just let his game speak for itself he would get so much more respect. Im sure most NFL players feel the same way. All Sherman has done is paint a huge target on his back. And someone is going to hit the bullseye on him soon.

PP7 is a better athlete than he is a corner. But you cant separate the two. Dude is a bad-arse athletic corner. What he may lack in ockdown type cover skills makes up for in other ways. (and his cover skills aren't bad they just aren't #).
Sherman is considered great because he really only needs to guard people for one second considering his d-line is all over the QB quickly. Put Sherman in the Cowboys d-backfield and lets see how much shite he talks.
