I get your point, but replacing TM7 with PP7 would not make this defense any better.

Trading TM7 for a top QB would be better for LSU as a whole, but it would certainly hurt the defense. Is it more fun to watch TM7 tear it up or a top QB? I don't know.

No love for Kellen Moore? I would make that trade in a heart beat!

For one of the elite QBs, hell yes. For any other defensive player.. not a chance.

We may not miss a player more than him. The energy level he plays at infects the entire defense. He has a nose for the ball that I've only ever seen in players like Ray Lewis and Troy Polamalu (when he's healthy). He's uncanny. I was also thinking of starting a thread asking if he's the most underrated player in the SEC. He was on very few all-SEC teams and then was usually listed as second or third team. I guess Miles was being cagey when he suggested he might just be a nickel back. He was in every defensive play against Oregon. I wish he went both ways (not in a gay way). I think he could do it and not miss a beat.

A top QB affects the offense on every play, there is no question as my first post was Andrew Luck. I was responding to the quote of any player in history, and showing he isn't even the best LSU player at his position in the last 2 years much less no other player in history.

No way, no how.

He is the beast of the east, and IMHO he is already better than PP7, in terms of his impact on the outcome of tough games.

He is uncanny in his ability to make plays on the ball, and he started that shite as soon as he got on the field in his freshman year.

I think he's the best defensive player I have ever seen, and he's prolly gonna get even better.

TM7 is a frickin' PHENOM!!

Heissman material, for sure.

Maybe even THIS YEAR, if we happen to make a run at the BCS title.

I just feel like his value is more than what he brings talent wise. To me, he appears to be the leader of this defense already and the defense most definitely has taken on his personality. I think he is one of those rare players that really does make the players around him better. Just a gut feeling.

I understand and agree with the tribute to the man. No way. You get a playmaker like that, you build on it. No circumstances whatsoever.

This is the one thing that will always affect TM7 in his career IMO. He will have trouble getting on All-SEC or All-American teams down the road because he will be listed as a CB. I know he was a freshman All-American, but those voters just look down the stat sheets and place their votes. To be an All-American now, he will have to be considered a great CB, and he technically does not fit the bill nationally.

However, he already is the greatest defensive "utility" player in LSU history IMO, and I love the intensity that he brings to the game.

Yep, cause he puts so much pressure on the QB, whether its his coverage, closing speed on passes, or fake blitzes causing them to mentally check down to the Hot-routes.

I agree. I actually believe that we will stay in nickel packages this year just so TM7 is on the field, even if the situation calls for our base defense. Chavis will have a difficult decision at times. TM7 should be on the field at all times when we are on defense, but where to put him may prove to be an issue.

I wouldn't trade him for anybody in college ball but RG3 or Luck. He caused two false starts on the same drive by just creeping up to the LOS, that's Polomalu type shite. Will also have the record at LSU for forced fumbles and fumble recoveries by game 4.

Hell no. A great QB might be more valuable but I wouldn't trade TM7. He is one of the most impressive defensive players I have ever seen and still has at least another year to play after this one.
