Then why does Nolan Cain.. a pitcher who never ran between a single base in college coordinate the base running?

Because of Watergate.. Richard Nixon royally screwed the LSU baseball team.

Some of the greatest coaches in history never played any organized sport. That has to be more difficult than a qb becoming a DC or a pitcher becoming whatever Cain is.

So no one should ever hire Mike Leach to coach football....got it.

Condoleezza Rice was appointed to the NCAA playoff committee.
How much tackle football did she play at Stanford?

That makes a lot of sense.

It's sort of like people who never coached a college game in their lives telling some one who does it for a living how to do it?

If you ran a sports message board would you let former band geeks start threads?

If Gray Tiger ran a message board you would only be able to start threads praising inept coaching.

Praise Cain. Good job good effort.

The fact that someone played QB would not disqualify someone from me hiring them as a DC.

Aranda is a defensive coaching demi-God so irrelevant!

I'm pretty sure he has run bases at some point in his life.

In an unrelated story, I am friends with Steve Delebars brother (pitcher for the Reds) and we play on a softball team together. He was telling me how when his brother is not playing he sometimes plays on a softball team. He looked at me and said I know, I know he's a pitcher and he never hits in the majors, but he can fricking crush the ball. He said his brother was the best overall players he's ever seen and just because he was a pitcher didn't mean he didn't know what the hell he was doing in other areas.

I guarantee you Cain knows what the hell he is doing.

You started this idiotic thread, don't blame me because it came back to bite you on the arse.

Did it? Cain hasn't gotten better as he's gained experience this season. He's regressing. Clearly he didn't learn his lesson after the Ole Miss series. His call to send the runner tonight was worse than @Ole Miss because there was only 1 out tonight. At least there were 2 outs a couple of weeks ago.
