Narrative nonsense that there is no proof for.

The only proof you have come with is stats that has lead us to the NIT which he may or may not play in -

Silly me using objective data and not "grit" and "motor". I guess Anthony Davis is an overrated bum since the Pelicans are missing the playoffs? Can't be that his supporting cast is lackluster?

Have you watched any LSU basketball games before commenting on this - honestly?

I've watched pretty much every game over the past 10 years. You really believe Ben Simmons was the main problem with this team?

No, but he hasn't helped or been a factor either. I've seen a lot of talent come thru this program since the '90's - he hasn't impressed me at all!!

As disappointing as this team may have been, I can't fathom that take on Ben, but I guess we will have to agree to disagree. I don't think either of us will change the others mind.

Don't worry, not a fan of the NBA or the 76ers but thanks for playing

I wanted to believe in the hype - I took my kids to some home games but he isn't what he's made out to be. That home A&M game, Thornton, Martin and Temple got bigger ovations and that means something.

Simmons is a good player but would have benefitted LSU basketball a great deal more if he had played center in the low post for LSU. Just grabbed rebounds and made shots around the rim on offense and altered shots and rebounded on defense. WE really didn't benefit from having a 'point forward' who can't shoot or a "great passer". Also with Simmons in the paint helping out, Victor probably gets in a lot less foul trouble.

If Hornsby would have been and stayed healthy the whole season, and with Simmons at center, we would have had a pretty good team.

Ok, then let's apply this back to Simmons.

Mickey and Martin averaged 32.3 pts and 19.1 rebounds a game. Simmons and Victor averaged 31.4 pts and 17.5 rebounds a game, which isn't a huge dropoff. They have the same supporting cast M&M did, with the addition of Blakeney, who brought an additional 12.8 pts and 3.4 rebounds to the mix.

Last year's team made the NCAA, and it took an epic late collapse to not beat a team that went to the Sweet 16.

This year's team stumbled early, sputtered out during the stretch run after clawing it's way to the top of the conference standings after the halfway point, and just played the worst game anyone has seen in a long time.

Something is significantly wrong with this team. People blame Quarterman, but he was a selfless player the previous 2 seasons. Victor was on the practice roster last year, it's unlikely to be him. Blakeney has made comments about unspecified teammates, I'm going to doubt it was about himself. Gray has seemed to try to do anything he can to help the team, including playing a lot more in control.

Patterson lost his spot, he was starting the end of last season at PG. He was dropped in favor of Simmons as the primary ball handler, so more shooters could play around Ben. It's possible he's a problem.

Simmons gets his numbers, but it's just off a bit. He acts like a baby when the pass goes to someone else, I've seen him throw his hands in the air like "come on man, throw it to me". It's embarrassing to see anyone do that, and he's done it a few times this season... it makes me cringe.
