This all day long..

Wasnt RR the OC at Toolame when they went 12-0... And IMO King was more of a passer than runner..

I think Shep/DR could work at LSU... We have better RBs/WRs so they wouldnt have to carry the load as much

Do you guys think that if we had kept Shep at QB he would be anything like Denard Robinson?

I don't think he's as big as Robinson. Also, since he's never thrown a pass in a game, we have no idea if he can throw as well as Robinson.

this is bullshite...imo. There isn't a coach, at any level, that doesn't want to win it all. If they don't care about winning it all than they won't be coaching for very long.

Would Miles love to have another NC? Of course. If given these choices:
Option A
=< 7 wins 5% chance
8 to 9 wins 90% chance
>= 10 wins 5% chance

or Option B
=< 7 wins 30%
8 to 9 wins 40%
>= 10 wins 30%

what do you think Miles would pick? IMO going with JJ is option A and RS would have been option B. Option A gives him a bigger chance at keeping his job, but some fans like myself would rather take the chance for something special.

However, the way we call our offense, I doubt DR would have the same stats he currently has for UM.

What is surprising is that the ONLY REASON he picked LSU over Texas was because he was promised that he could play QB. Mack Brown has honest and told him he was only recruiting him as a wide receiver....which I think was a very stand up thing to do.

Perhaps. But, based on his high school film, Shep would likely run the read option (which Crowton runs repeatedly) better than JJ. I think there's a good chance that he would be big threat to the defense running that play.

And while JJ and JL may both be better passers, Shep can throw at least a little. Heck, based on his film, I'd say he's a better passer than Pat White, who was a very successful college QB.

I'm not saying that he should definitely be the QB every down every game. But, given the state of our QB play, he should at least get a few series. I really don't see why not.

Also....he is the second #1 rated QB we have recruited in 4 years...and they have BOTH been busts at QB.

RP contributed heavily to the '07 BCS title as well as being named MVP of the '07 SEC Champ. Game. We all wanted more from him but he was hardly a bust.
