That's why I just don't see it happening any time soon.

Yep. Every AD wants his guy as head coach. Always has, always will.

Allena offered others the job first (reportedly). O couldn't care less about Alleva I imagine.

Maybe maybe not but they wouldn't fire him immediately. It's not like O was Allevas guy.

Too late for that, but the administration should do it anyway.

He needs to go but for optics purposes it needs to be 6 months to a year from now

no, you simply can't make that kind of move at a football school like LSU, at this point, without something disastrous happening. O will likely have several good seasons with Aranda and Canada as coordinators.

Should have been fired 6 months to year ago. If they were going to do it, they already would have. It's not just Alleva or King for that matter. The whole damn thing is broken at the top.

Alleva will be here until the program loses money...thats his job. Results have been very good. O's job is to keep winning....and he will. Basketball, it is what it is, even with Pete and Shaq.
Baseball brings in $$ as well. Nothings broken from the perspective of those whose opinion matters....

A new guy would give O a legitimate shot, but he wouldn't feel any pressure or sense of loyalty to keep him from canning O if things went south quickly

This. New AD's don't all come into their jobs looking to fire coaches. You think Alabama's new AD after Mal Moore tried to fire Saban? You think whatever AD took Alleva's place at Duke tried to fire Coach K?

No. Orgeron will sink or swim based on his record.

If he goes 0-8 in the SEC, he's toast even with Alleva.

He makes the playoffs and a new AD will have to keep him.

Only gray area is if he consistently loses 3-4 games a year. Then Alleva will keep him and a new AD won't. But O's fate is still in his own hands. Win enough and avoid scandal, and his job is safe.

I doubt that would happen, because it would affect Aranda, Canada, and the rest of the coaching staff. These coaches are still at LSU because of Ed Orgeron. Not because of of Alleva. Hell, they could go coach anywhere they basically want, and command great money because of their overall body of work.
Some of the people on the rant are treating CEO the way the left wing and media are treating Trump. Give him a chance to deliver and STFU!

why do you say that? is it the football shite you speak of? you do know that "the top" has a LOT more to concern themselves with that athletics. and more important things.
