Just saw Sankey on SEC Network. I wish someone would ask these guys the tough questions. These were all softballs

No one asks about the Elephant that every knows about but no one talks about.. Florida had good reason to not want to play this game.

Ask: LSU offered several, reasonable options to get this game played. With Florida's apparent incentive to not play this game at all, do you think that a 3rd party should have stepped in and told them what to do? In this case, why didn't you tell them to play at a neutral site or in Baton Rouge?

They shouldn't be given the option to just not play it. If they have one, they won't. Thats when the SEC steps in and says not playing it is not an option. You have a bunch of options. pick one.

Also, this excuse about not travelling with the storm because they dont want to be away from their families is complete BS. If that was the best they could do, you know they are reaching for reasons.

If this game was originally scheduled in BR, no one would hear a peep about people having to leave their families. No one ever has. This isn't a new situation.

Pathetic

Danielson grilled him pretty hard during the TN/A&M game when they spoke on the phone.

Gary sounded ticked off.

ETA: What George said.

He just kept answering with "We need to come together as a family." He must've said it 3 or 4 times.

What I don't get is why didn't he tell Florida if they couldn't come to an agreement to play the game at a different site then to sit tight and expect to play the game Sunday or Monday in Gainesville. By doing this on Thursday they would have seen the game could have been played in Gainsville on Sunday or Monday. He could have told both schools to be prepared to play then and Florida could have went a couple hrs west to practice and ride out the storm. LSU team would have stayed out in BR and ran practice like normal and prepared for the game.

Saturday at 6:00am would have given them 60 Hrs for a Monday kickoff. Not sure when the storm passed Gainesville but figured it was before 6 am Saturday.

From what I've read, most teams have what's called loss insurance in the event a game is "postponed." I put quotes around it because there is no date for a reschedule. Everyone knows it hasn't been pushed back a couple days, it's just "postponed."

Back to my point, if Florida were to agree to play at a different or a neutral site, that insurance is null and void. They lose it. It must be a home game for them to lose little, if any, revenue. If my understanding about that insurance is correct.

Agreed. Another big hitch is how long Foley drug it out. He did it until the storm was already parallel to Miami, and the SEC office had to "postpone" the game. Foley forced Sankey's decision.

There could've been talks yesterday to get the stadium ready for an evening game on Monday, since the storm veered east and thankfully central Florida was spared. There were no power outages, no flooded roads, minimal damage, etc but Sankey evidently was too scared that he'd make Foley mad by doing that.

So now, according to Sankey, the game needs to be played but we all must "come together as a family." Maybe he'll bring the cookies and balloon animals too.

I've been pissed all weekend I just want to see some LSU football and these pussies fricked that up for me. A simple business as usual plan to play Sunday or Monday at the latest would have prevented all this bullshite.

Same here, man. I just don't get it.

What's the freaking problem?

Your players will be on campus on Monday, we could've sent the equipment truck yesterday, it would've been there today.

That would give them 72 hours to get crowd control, concession workers, all that stuff, prepare the stadium and so forth.

We could fly over on Sunday.

It just seems so simple. I don't follow why Sankey is just blowing hot air. He legitimately seems scared to put his foot down and make a damn decision and the longer he waits, the worse the situation becomes.

It doesn't affect just us, it's now Tennessee's problem too and that could be just the start.

Is the the conference commissioner or what? What a clown.

This is true. What disappointed me was that Gary didn't follow up on the dodges and press.

Later, Gart said he was about to go Perry Mason on him. That would have been great.

Someone should have said why didn't you schedule the game for Monday and if damage was too bad you postpone again? He would have dodged that one too.

He needs to be fired. This guy is worse than Les Miles with his management.

100% birdman, Danielson was right on him during the TN/A&M game. He simply reverted to the same excuses he repeated during the interview. LSU has to bring more pressure.

Sankey's was just ridiculously lame with his responses. I can't believe this guy is the head of the SEC. I know it would never happen, but I wish Gary would have just told Sankey that if you won't answer the questions then we'll just end the interview.

How about "Did you get completely played by UF or were you in collusion with them?"

There are several givens in this world:

1. The sun will rise in the east
2. if you drop something it will fall down not up

3. All decisions by the SEC office will be based on two things; what is best for Bama and what will screw LSU

This is why the game will be paid Nov 19 and LSU will not be reimbursed one dime. The SEC MIGHT pay of USA but that's not a given.

Any objections by LSU will be portrayed by Bama lackeys ESPN and SEC Network as LSU being unreasonable to "Poor Florida".

IT WILL HAPPEN JUST WATCH

Is there any rule that the game has to be played or not? Seems there is a rule to allow to FLA get away with what occurred while all other teams moved or played that were affected by hurricane.

After Sankey dodged a few questions and it was clear he wouldn't answer I would have ended with a statement.
It's clear we now have a new standard where the Home teams AD calls all the shots and the new commissioner performs his role from weakness and new expectations are set in place for more SEC games to be canceled when they don't benefit the home team.
