Say by some miracle the Ed O pulls it off and we win out the rest of the season and go 10-2. Would the playoff committee have to forget about the team LSU was before miles was fired and only take into consideration of who they are now?

Not sure why they would need to take that into account... The team wins out, that means they also win an SEC championship.... they win out and they are in. Two losses or not...

I'm also not saying they will win out, but if they did...

LSU would he the hottest team out there and the best two-loss team, plus SEC champs. Would probably get in, but it also depends on what other teams do. Won't get in over undefeated power 5 teams.

True, but that's not the question

There are only 4 spots, and so that means one of the Power 5 conference teams gets left out. Also, factor in the possibility that Houston could go undefeated with wins over Oklahoma and Louisville.

My thought is that because there is a committee, they could easily see a hot LSU team worthy of a spot after replacing their coach with two early season losses. That being said, it really depends on what the other top teams' records are.

I see where you're coming from. That said, I have a hard time seeing an SEC championship team being left out of the top 4... even with 2 Ls. Know what I mean?

I agree. Which is why I could see the committee having faith in a two loss LSU team that is playing really hot.

Not going to happen, this team isn't as good as you people think. It is as talented as people think, but talent doesn't win anything. If talent meant much, we'd have the best president in the world, instead of one of the worst in history.

No but they could not ignore an SEC west and SEC champion team in the playoffs either.

It's not happening though. If we lose less than 2 more games it will be a salvaged season.

If LSU wins out making the SEC champion 11-2... The rest of the field contending will most likely be

an undefeated Houston
an undefeated Clemson or Louisville
an undefeated/one loss Wisky, Michigan, or Ohio St
an undefeated/one loss Stanford
and who knows whats coming out of the Big 12 his year...

But I really don't think if you have an undefeated Houston and 3 other undefeated or 1 loss conference champs, they would take LSU as the 2 loss SEC champ over them. You would need the Pac 12 and Big 12 champ to also be a two loss team for LSU to have a chance in this scenario of getting in.
