Fore I respect your opinion and won't disagree. However it has nothing to do with the dumbass thoughts of the original poster or the second response in this thread.
I would buy you a few beers to have decent discussion about the option to the short side of the field. Hell I would bet Chicken would even let me expense it.

This play was actually really good. The only aggravating thing was that we would run it 3 times in a row.

Did we run the option to the short side/wide side/or any side prior to Crowton's arrival?
Serious...I don't remember yesterday, much less 2005-2006.
If the answer is no, then there's your answer.
By the way, every good run Ford had last year, including a couple of TDs, was an option play. He doesn't run between the tackles...and yes, I realize he lifts a lot of weight. But he seems to thrive on option plays and running outside. So all of you that think he's the best RB on the team, you better HOPE we run some option this year.

Go re-watch the '97 Florida game and say the option to the short side of the field is an awful play.
The reason it was so unsuccessful was because of how passive JJ was running the option. To run it well, the QB must attack the LB quickly. If he keeps running laterally, he will run out of room.
Real life football does not work the way it does in Madden/NCAA games.
