we continue to the run the option into the short side of the field, toss the ball the tailback that is running forward when the Tigers are near the goaline, and continue to have clock managment issues?

If we continue to see this...and we did in the spring game. It speaks volumes that it was not Crowton, but rather Miles that had a love-fest with these less than effective offensive plays.

Crowton is the scape goat for the offense woes the past two years - I get that. I just believe that it (lack of offensive production) should not be entirely placed on him - which seems to be the case.

Will you admit that maybe Crowton's inability to teach QB's anything was a lot of the problem when we have the same offensive philosophy agaisnt oregon but light it up on offense?

I don't recall Mett or Lee running the option in the spring game, and I don't ever recall Lee running it in a game. And the toss was a pretty effective running play last year. It gives the back a chance to hit an open running lane quicker.

I've always felt like Crowton was a good coordinator. When we had a QB he did well. We haven't since 2007 though so naturally the Offense would struggle. Nobody can do well without a decent QB. People always wanna blame someone though and since it's "his job", he takes the blame.

That's like you going to work and instead of doing what you do best, your boss tells you to do it his way instead which isn't as effective and he says do it on a POS computer that doesn't work well at all. Yet when the product isn't as good, you get the blame. Then your replacement comes in gets a new computer.

having Lee or Mett run the option would be a horrendous idea, and JJ was an ugly option runner. The point is fans that continually point to the short-side option as a flawed play, when it clearly is not.
