:sigh:

Applauding a good baseball play by the opposing team is as old of a baseball tradition as the game itself.

High fiving the opposing team, now thats something else.

Maybe were just not sore losers and don't pout with every loss bc we know we are kings of baseball? Why can't we just be great fans instead of "trying to show everyone were great fans"? Some people enjoy good baseball.

And no, I wouldn't. But I see why they would. Certainly not going to still keep crying about it a year later. Why are y'all so miserable?

yes, much like applauding the opposing pitcher as he leaves the field.

To answer the OP, no, I doubt we would give Oklahoma a victory lap, because they are a known and perceived major school. Our fans did it last year to a no name school, and IMO, it was kind of degrading to them. Stony Brook probably didn't realize it, but the only reason they were given that lap, is because they are a nobody.

I beg to differ. Only teams we will never ever allow a victory lap in baseball would be Alabama , Miami, ole piss and perhaps USC

Degrading? That is in direct contrast to every comment I've ever read.

No, they applaud. Polite clapping. Generally, there's a brief pause, some mild cussing that that they made the play, then clapping in appreciation of the play being made. They don't "cheer". It's baseball, man, it's part of the culture to conduct yourself with some class.

As for the question, hell no. No victory lap for Oklahoma. It's not going to happen anyway because the Tigers will prevail. Last year was weird because there was some appreciation of the scrappiness of the underdog Stony Brook team. Very few teams would get that treatment. It was an anomaly.

Especially after a gutsy performance. I'd have no issues applauding and possibly even cheering for an opposing pitcher that threw a nono, or perfect game. Respecting the difficulty of the feat does not make you a bad fan, it honors the legacy of the game.

Now, cheering for another team after they beat your arse in a series that for all intents and purposes they had no business winning? Thats something different. I understand why Stony Brook won last year, but by no means would I have stayed around to give them a victory lap.

Apparently so. Some people will never be happy and are always looking for something to whine about.

I love the game as much as I love LSU. I'm not going to pout when we get outplayed, I'm going to appreciate a good performance.

I can't see LSU fans applauding Oklahoma if they come in here and take the SR.

Gross underdog "Small School" Stonybrook was a freaky anomaly. They kind of deserved it.

Sooners won't get the same treatment. I hope. Ya know we kind of have a history of not liking their arrogant fan base......
