I live here in RVA and they love him, wouldn't be surprised if they upped the ante to keep him. NC St is also making a push apparently.

Personally, I think he's good, not great. I don't think he's done enough to get excited about hiring at LSU. Think its best for him to stay put and LSU to look elsewhere, just my two cents.

Pretty damn impressive for someone that started as the student manager at Clemson.

Pledge,

Thank you for the suggestion. I tried three times. I hope that you weren't unable to figure out how to use it.

Just put a parenthesis at the end.

Indiana Tiger,

Yeah, I know, but after I copied the link and saw that it was wrong I couldn't see how to get rid of the parenthesis. And it continued to copy it that way. I know that I was doing something wrong, but I couldn't figure it out. Please advise. I hate not being able to function technologically. I'm old, but not that old!

But either way, Wade looks really good.

Somehow you left off the end parenthesis when you copied the link. Edit the post. You will see some extra stuff but the link is obvious. The ending of the link in your post will look like this:

/Will_Wade_(basketball)]LINK[/link]

Insert a parenthesis and make it look like this:

/Will_Wade_(basketball))]LINK[/link]

There should be two closed parentheses after basketball.

I would be extremely happy. He has finished 1st or 2nd in his conference all 4 years as a head coach

Conference record of 55-15 (.785)

That is great, and it shows he outperforms his peers.

ETA: In comparison, Jones was 91-89 (.505) in conference before LSU hired him

got to be careful with coaches like Wade. He took over a mid-major power from Shaka Smart after he left for Texas. So Wade's success, while good, may just be a leftover from the Shaka era.

Remember, we had something similar here: Trent Johnson's first year at LSU, which was with players left over from Brady. After that initial success, we were able to see, after a few years, what Johnson could do here on his own.

So I'd give Wade a few more years to prove it before handing him the keys.

No. If it's between Davis and Wade...Wade till the cows come home. New blood.

Yep.

Wade had a conference record of 27-7 while at UTC before VCU.

The two years before Wade got to UTC?

14-22 in conference
