Will this board melt when the old offense is run this weekend?

I think the offense this weekend will look very similar to what we were use to seeing. It could be very boring or very exciting. Lots of runs against a stacked box but wouldn't this be the best game plan against a horrible run defense? Of course people will be excited if its like the 2015 Auburn game but if its a 3 yards and cloud of dust type night just to keep the Ole Miss offense off the field how bad will this board get?

Pretty bad if it's the same offense Les puts on the field. If it is productive then yeah I am sure there will be energy in tiger stadium for about five minutes tops.

It's not going to look like 2014 where it was run run run with two TEs. LSU is going to run the ball plenty but it will be out of multiple formations.

No shite sherlock! It looked similar last week too, it will next week too.

You can't overhaul an offense in the middle of the season, so yeah the offense will look similar. DUH!

I really don't understand why comments like this are tolerated on the board.

Yeah....the Rant should be held to higher standards. This isn't the OT.

just seems like that would actually be the best game plan against them. Coach O and Ensminger are obviously way more imaginative and will hopefully mix it up with some run / pass option for Etling but they could become very conservative.

The reason the offense will look similar is because Ole Miss is giving up over 200 per game on the ground skin dick

it's smart to rely on the run in this game...

1. control the clock
2. keep their offense off the field.
3. keep our defense fresh

but I still think we will mix in enough pass to where the offense doesn't look like a clm offense

That's what im saying. Many games pounding the ball up the middle wearing down a defense doesn't start to pay off till late in the 3rd quarter. Cant imagine how everyone will be groaning on here when its a tight game at half time

as opposed to an unskinned one? I don't understand what youre trying to say here

Not sure why this post is being downvoted so much.

If I'm coaching this game, I'm probably running 65-70% of the time (68-32 split would be ideal as long as we're moving the ball), trying to prevent turnovers and keep Chad Kelly off the field. The objective is more to keep him out of rhythm than keeping defense fresh, because I think we have adequate depth.

That and their run defense has been poor, so if I can put together long, sustained drives, I'm going to do that --- including running down the play clock and shortening the game.

If we run an offense like we saw last week, I think we're playing right into their strengths.

when is that ever the best plan?

Think about how well we have been running with 3 WR out there...

Lets try that... ok now stay with me...

with the best RB in the country back there.
