If Les stays/kept I don't think the offense will be the problem next year it will be the defense. Who do y'all think leaves off the defense? If our depth is bad this year next year could get real ugly.

There's a part of me that wants to give Steele another year to get his system implemented and get "his players". But his reputation doesn't give me confidence in that, and this defense has just been garbage.

If the AD is serious about wanting to be a dominant top-flight program, there is no reason not to get rid of Steele and hire a premier defensive coordinator. I was okay with letting Chavis walk, but we replaced him with a proven failure as a DC. What a joke. I'm all for keeping him on as LBs coach or something, but not DC.

We have the talent of a top 5-10 defense in the country, and instead we are 28

Yeah and this is not a knock on Steele I think whoever coaches defense next year will have a hard time because of depth. Chavis and co really screwed LSU with its recruiting.

Defensively we will lose beckwith, white, D. Jones, and maybe Lacouture. We have talent coming in on the Dline and LBs but there will be growing pains there. Our secondary will be deep BUT with no pressure on the QB they could also get exposed.

Overall I think it will be more of the same. Middle of the pack in the SEC

Steele is competing with Peveto as being the worst hire in the Miles era.

If Beckwith stays our defense should be 10-15, if he leaves, I'm thinking more along the lines of 40-50. He's THAT important to this team.

most likely lose our best 3 LB's. Depth there is baaaad! It won't get any better. Stopping the run will be very difficult.

More than likely worse. The LB situation alone will be very disappointing. Our secondary will lose Mills & White to the draft. Needless to say, the defense will be in rebuild mode.

LaCouture and Beckwith would be key to making a run next season up front on defense with the new players coming in, but Godchaux should be ready to lead. We need them both to come back for the best results. Imagine Beckwith with 2-3 other linebacker to play with him.

I'm looking forward to seeing how we might deploy the 3-4 next season, but we need the D-line recruits to pull it off.

probably worse. steele sucks. my opinion on him hasn't changed since we hired him instead of pendergast, you know, a real coach. so what if he doesn't like to recruit. we have a TON of snake oil salesmen on the staff, woulda been nice to replace a real football coach (chavis) with another football coach.

Ah...But they would love to get raises at their current place of employment. Sure, let's help them out. That turned out exactly like I expected last season when everyone thought DCs would be lined up at the door. The problem was it wouldn't be the ones you hoped to get.
