I disagree that he wasn't told the significance of a win over Alabama for his candidacy--not that he needed to be told anyway.

I guess if you keep saying the same bullshite over and over, it starts to sound less like bullshite. At least to you.

Nice deflection of the question. I'll continue to wait.

Apparently interim head coaches don't do anything but sit back and collect W's that don't belong to them
Well lets see how he did as a head coach

3-21 in SEC

10-25 Overall

Worst coach in the programs history

It would be one thing if we didnt have a head coaching gig to go on, but we do

He was the worst coach in Ole Miss history.

You need to wake up in the morning and repeat that in the mirror 10 times every day.

No.

My arguments

He was in fact told he would lead for the job if he beat Alabama

He didn't need to be told that anyway to understand that.

He would lead for the job if he beat Alabama.

You can choose to ignore what is plainly obvious if you like. You even agree with the fact that he would lead for the job if he had beaten Alabama. This isn't hard to understand.

Coach O is now 10-3 as interim head coach. Good, not great. But good

That's actually really good considering the state of those teams he took over.

Those weren't 0-0 teams at the start of a season.

That is considering splitting hairs?

Holy shite we have lost our minds

Yes, if you are going to say his record as a head coach, his wins at LSU and USC should count.

Hypothetically speaking, would he stay for Associate HC/DL Coach with Jimbo?

Explain what their record was at the start of the season

I know what you meant, but boy did you present it poorly

He was a worse coach than BDP was. Worse than Sly Croom. Worse than Derek Dooley. Worse than just about everyone.

But do coaches learn from their mistakes and get better? Do things better? Is it possible that he is a better HC now than when he was at Ole Miss? From what he is showing me right now, I would lean toward yes.

And more recent history shows that he is 10-3 in his last 13 games.

Maybe Dooley, BDP, Croom, Nutt, Chizik, Muschamp, and Lane Kiffin learned a bunch of things. Let Kentucky find out how much better they are now. I don't think being a failure is a plus for a job like LSU. Only an idiot could look at blind resumes and pick O over Jimbo, for instance.

He would, and rightfully so. Even if he wanted to stay, what incoming coach would keep someone who basically coached the team for a year as his own?

Bama has scored over 30 points in every game other than their game against us and we kept them scoreless for over three quarters. If we got blown out I'd probably have a different opinion, but we lost by ten with terrible offensive line and qb play. And let's remember our OC is an Interim coach too.
We have blown out every team other than Bama with O as head coach.
If he wins out he should get the job.

If I were Jimbo or Herman I would have Coach O. under contract as an assistant head coach.

...and if I am Alleva I would let Coach O. know his status as complete as possible.

You people need to temper your expectations a bit. Florida, South Carolina, and Georgia are pretty damn good jobs, I would say Florida and Georgia are equal to LSU. You know who they ended up with? 2 former Bama Coordinators and a retread SEC coach that couldn't do anything at his last stop. O is not a bad choice for this job, especially considering that he has got this team back on track in the middle of a season.

None of them ended up with Ole Miss' worst coach in their history. Sometimes you have to take a risk on Saban or Meyer or Harbaugh. Who knew that San Diego State had the best football coach in the world?
