It will take a lot of money. What is a man's reputation worth?

Miles just needs to work out a few wrinkles in his short side option play and its BCS Champion.

We won 9 games with a more multi-dimensional offense.....we won the last 4 with one-dimensional offense and badazz talent...the play calling in the last 4 games was run run run basically!! our guys basically did it on their own..once JJ got the ball forgood...conservative play calling was the order of the day

Except of course the Arkansas game, where we had the most passing attempts and threw for over 200 yards for the second time this season.

This team became one dimensional when other teams could stop our running game. We were a playaction passing team all year long and that stops when you can't run the ball. It didn't matter which mediocre QB was playing. Both were very efficient up until we faced good/great defenses in UGA/Bama

The Arkansas game is the ONLY game where LSU offense went into complete attack mode - scoring 14 points in the 2nd quarter (21 total counting Matheiu's punt return). That drive right before half was a thing of beauty - too bad we have never seen that offense since.

We were a play action run to set up the pass offense with Lee. With a QB like Lee, we were able to mix up our playcalling - pass on first down, go for the deep ball and still pound the D with the running game, because of his ability. With Jefferson, playcalling was limited to options, draws, sneaks, and power running. We did not use play action with Jefferson and we did not go deep - the few times we did he missed badly. The deep ball was not a threat with JJ - it was with Lee and that's why play action was so effective. Hell, one of the TV announcers compared Jarrett Lee to fricking Peyton Manning.

Our offense no matter who was QB was centered around the power running game. Yes we ran the option with Jefferson, but let's not act like we turned into a complete spread team with Jefferson. He still passed a good bit off of play action. People's view of the entire season are altered because of the last 2 bad performances by Jefferson against good defenses. Lee didn't fair well against the stout defense of Alabama.

And TV announcers were saying we were a better team going in to the Alabama rematch because we were better and more diverse offensively. The revisionist history on this board is amazing.

I think we have come to find out, as of yesterday, that miles calls the shots with the offense, at least since Crowton left (got pushed out). So, I would bemoan any big name OC that comes in.

We rarely ran play action with Jefferson. Remember the pass to Randle against Florida? Pass to Randle against Auburn? The pass to Beckham against WV? We didn't see any of that with Jefferson. They weren't just bad performances, they were outright terrible that no national championship caliber team should have. Lee never had a performance anywhere near that bad, even against Alabama - he crossed the 50.

Umm..not sure what channel you were watching but pretty much every TV announcer all agreed Alabama is really the better team and picked them to win.

Like the pass to Randle against Auburn from Jefferson, the pass to Randle against WKU, pass to Clement against Arkansas, pass to Shep against Ole Miss? It was there but people dont want to remember it because of the last 2 games.

I dont know anyone that can argue Lee's performance against Alabama was better than Jefferson's.

ESPN. Desmond Howard for sure said it and I think Corso did too.
