No, he's done. Maybe he could become an announcer or analyst

You're crazy if you think one of the most successful coaches of the last decade won't be able to find a job coaching somewhere.he may not get high profile job because of his age but he could easily find a job.
I'm not saying he wouldn't be offered a job, I'm saying he probably won't want to. Plus his age and he's had some health issues

Urban Meyer is the widely considered the 2nd best coach in cfb and he couldn't maintain UF as a power.

He abandoned ship because the thugs on his team were bringing him down. He saw that dumpster fire for what is was and bolted.

We still have a very good chance at finishing top 25 this year. That would mean we have finished top 25 3 of the last 4 years. 99% of all cfb programs would kill for that "decline".

Just an idiotic post.

Top 25 for a program like ours is a horrible underachievement. But you can be proud of mediocrity if you want, but the rest of us recognize that top 25 isn't nearly good enough.

He could have a job the next day if he wanted it. He will probably take a year off, relax, regroup, and recharge.

Sure, he can get another coaching job, but it won't be at a high level program. Those ADs have seen what's occurred here.

Would love to see his team beat the crap out of LSU and their shiny new coach.

Where Mizzou, USCe? He will never get to the top with those recruits.

He most certainly could. If we beat A&M and win our bowl game that would be a top 20 finish and basically be a 10-10-3 season ( no one believes we would've lost to Mcneese). That's a good season.
I believe it's time to make a change but I know Miles could turn this around.

If he gets fired, I would not be shocked if either Illinios or Iowa State reached out. He would be a solid name hire for a second tier Power 5 school, and more of a safe bet than an up and comer or coordinator.

Maintaining a powerhouse is one of the hardest things a coach can do.

Only if you:
a. get complacent
b. rest on your laurels
c. lose that inner fire/drive...whatever you want to call it.

Not sure where it all went wrong for Miles....but 1/9 got the ball rolling.

Quick. Name all the coaches who have maintained powerhouse programs for years.

Now, name all the coaches who have won conference titles or national titles and then flamed out after 5 years.

How soon after he's released? This will be the true measure of how good/bad he was as a coach. How long will the line be? I think a lot of people are in for a reality check. The smart thing for him to do is live off the $15 million and just go fishing - to save face.

I wont fault you for your belief but given how much time? I mean the Steele hire is square in his lap and now Chaviz is looking like a genius for heading to CS. BDP has done more this season to sabotage this team than I could have ever imagined and CCC....I dont even know where to begin with this guy.
Miles has some good guys pulling in the right direction (Frank/O) but his liabilities outweigh his chance to fix things at this point.

Wow. Says the guy putting in zero work and shitting on top 15/ top 25 finishes.
In no way has lsu's last 3 years been mediocre and only someone with zero cfb knowledge would say it was.

Don't care.

I'm not a stalker, so, I don't plan to keep myself updated with regard to his whereabouts after he leaves BR.

Yeah they've seen a coach give lsu it's most successful era ever. I swear it's like some of you posters have been living in some dream world of yours where Miles has riden lsu into the ground. We have finished in the top 15 ( top 15 not just top 25) 2 of the last 3 years. That's a great accomplishment.

99% of cfb programs haven't finished top 15 2 of the last 3 years. I hate our ignorant and entitled fan base.
