Purely speculating here, but it seemed that the pressure of losing his job to Jefferson was more substantial than the Alabama D. Perhaps that is why Lee was able to come off the bench and save the day several times in 2010.

I know he isn't the best QB ever, but cut the guy some slack.

What does it say about Coach Miles if he makes the Chargers roster and what will people think?

I'll be the first to think.

Every coach has blind spots - every coach - and Les is no exception. If Les believed it best to feature a QB with wheels I'm good with that.

Where Les needs to be taken to the woodshed is he took the offense which we had been running for 8+ weeks, which was successful, which was still maturing, and totally shelved it for rest of the season. There is no nice way to put it. That was major football stupidity. You simply don't throw away such capability.

Historical example: OU won the NC in '85 after Troy Aikman's leg was broken. Switzer advised Troy to seek his football fortune elsewhere so he faciliatated his transfer to UCLA. Because OU had won the NC with Holloway (at QB?), Switzer decided to stick with a running QB. In '86 and '87 OU lost only game - both to Miami. Had they kept Aikman, they very likely could have won 3 NC's in a row.

Whatever JJ/JL do from here in football won't excuse Les's decision in '11.

I fervently and enthusiastically hope so.......

He's got a quick release and his arm is decent but he's not great after getting smacked in the mouth.

he'll be on the practice squad.

we all see the article says they are only carrying two QB's.

PS: RP was on the Green Bay practice squad last season.

Performed as needed......always cracks me up to see Lee lovers say things like this. JJ was below average, JL was average. Pull their numbers, they both were run of the mill QBs with incredible defenses and special teams to add points to the board. Let it go already.

Sounds similar to Flynn and Mauck

Lee is the type of smart, easy-to-coach prospect

Remember when certain posters insisted that Lee was benched for mythical disciplinary and/or academic problems? Right, right.

Jarrett Lee is a class act. I hope that he makes it in the pro's in some capacity. He deserves it.

Looking forward to seeing what Lee can do in preseason with the Chargers. Big fan. His competition Charlie Whitehurst shouldn't scare him. Lee must also be relieved to have a new coaching staff...I know I would if I were him.

The point: Both were considered average quarterbacks but both managed to play in the NFL.

I wouldn't say zero percent. Likely not a great chance, but more than zero.

He might, he played well Thursday. LSU isn't exactly a great place for a qb to develope there's a good chance he will improve a good bit with proper coaching.
