2014, 21 carries for 79 yards
2015, 19 carries for 31 yards
2016?

I think the ability to pass and not be as predictable will really help this year. As I recall, Fournette was getting hit in the backfield all night last year. I'm pretty sure we had JD Moore that game as well. Can our Oline match up with Alabama's D this year? They are stingy against the run and get pressure on the quarterback. The only teams to really have some offensive success were Ole Miss and Arkansas with the pass. Arkansas, a traditionally running team, had only 73 yards rushing.

I would define success as over 100 yards, thoughts?

Well you're pretty wrong. JD Moore and Our tackle/TE were both out for that game.

"Sophomore fullback JD Moore will miss the rest of the season after aggravating a knee injury during Saturday’s 30-16 loss at Alabama, coach Les Miles said Monday."

If he can get 100 it means good things for LSU IMO.

Unfortunately Alabama is a machine our o line isn't up to par yet and etling will be running for his life all night

I think Moore played very few downs before he had to leave. Might have been the first play?

This is the way I see it. I hope I am wrong. I gave up betting on football a long time ago. Maybe that's good for us?

You can bet your sweet arse Bama is going to try to take down LF. I think he will bring it this game.

I hope the safeties come up and get taken out of the play and Leonard runs wild.

A better question is will the OL have success against Alabama this year?

I don't see him have a ton of success carrying the ball. 80 to 100 yards on 18 to 22 carries is my guess.

LSU really needs to use the RBs in the passing game, IMO. They need to find ways to get LF and Guice the ball in some space, and it helps get the ball out of Etling's hands quickly.

I don't like our oline vs their dline. We are going to have to be on with our passing game early and hopefully that will allow us to run. Counters used to work well against bama...we have been running some lately.

How epic would it be if he takes his first carry to the house. Talk about getting the crowd into it. I listed individual stats per game. If you notice the total yards are not great but if you look at the YPC, they are not bad outside the Tennessee game.

I just have a feeling that Fournette will have a good game. 21/135 2 TDs

USC
Ronald Jones 7/46 4.6

W Kentucky
Anthony Wales 11/44 4.0

Ole Miss
Akeen Judd 15/45 3.0
Chad Kelly 14/43 3.1

Kent St.
Justin Rankin 6/52 8.7
George Bollas 3/26 8.7

Kentucky
Jojo Kemp 10/39 3.9
Benjamin Snell 8/38 4.8

Arkansas
Rawleigh Williams 12/46 3.8
Devwah Whaley 5/21 4.2

Tennessee
Jalen Hurd 13/28 2.2
Alvin Kamara 8/21 2.6

A&M
Keith Ford 15/62 4.1

It depends if the defense knows the play before we snap the ball as in years past.

He was injured on the 4th drive with about 6 minutes left to go in the 2nd quarter. Losing him hurt, but the OL struggled all game.

Ding ding winner! This will be the key. If we keep their defense guessing then that is a win for us. Yes the offensive line will be a big part but our game plan offensively is much bigger!

Moore went out at the beginning of the game, 1st or early 2nd qtr. He had missed several games prior with the same knee. Gordon was gone this game as well.

It depends on the quality of yards. We need first downs, keep Alabamas defense on the field , make them work. Not coming out fresh and making huge plays and scoring from D.

If LF gets 80 yards which directly leads to 4/5 first downs... That's a good day.

Then its up to the playmakers around him, Etling and his receivers to make some plays. While resting our D and allowing them to be explosive.

We NEED our offense to move the ball and make Alabama WORK.
