Will college football ever address offensive hands to the face?

I guess the NCAA does not care about the safety of defenders to blatantly allow their heads and necks to be pushed and punched into unnatural positions.

I've always felt that it should be a penalty just as facemask and illegal hands to the face on the offensive/defensive lines.

You serious? You don't know the difference between a stiff arm and offensive hands to the face?

What is the effective difference?
Serious question

From a medical standpoint, there is no difference. Both can cause severe trauma to the cervical area of the spine and neck.
From a football standpoint, not allowing stiff arms to the face would limit a large portion of "breakaway" run and thus take away a huge part of the game that viewers like to see.
You will likely not see any change to the rule unless some very key player is severely injured by one.

That's a great stiff arm.
What's the problem?

I'd be willing to bet that no one in the history of college football has ever gotten "severe trauma to the cervical area of the spine and neck" from a stiff arm. The human neck isn't really susceptible to injury when it's pushed forward or backwards, especially when you're standing up and you can topple backwards and change momentum easily. The big injuries happen when your momentum is going one way and your head gets pushed down from the top and your spine gets compressed

From a safety standpoint, I don't ever recall anyone in the history of football being seriously injured by a stiff arm to the face mask. I might be wrong.

Point taken
Should LSU teach it's defensive players to issue a well-placed "stiff arm" on receivers and backs to push them out of bounds?

to the facemask? yes if you want a penalty on every play. Stiff only applies to offensive players.

So, was LF7's punch to the face a penalty in you mind?

Yes
Illegal hands to face is illegal hands to the face
Offense vs defense should not matter

Has an offensive/defensive linemen ever caused an injury by using "hands to the face" on an opposing offensive/defensive linemen? That's a penalty.
Should be called on running backs, stiff arm to the face is illegal hands to the face.

That is a personal foul on a defensive player if he tried it.

Really only applies to the ball carrier. Would be a penalty for any other offensive player. Gets called on offensive lineman all the time.
Actually, if the RB was judged to have grabbed the facemask that would likely get called too.

This is my opinion and the only explanation that gives me peace when I see a defender get a hand right on the face mask. The stiff arm doesn't allow a player the advantage in the same way. A blocker is attempting to engage and thus gains an advantage while a ball carrier is attempting to evade. The runner is the only player on the field evading and therefore should be allowed to protect himself if he can. Grasping and pulling will always be illegal in every situation.

Generally, yes because most stiff arms occurr to players coming in from the side or somewhat behind the ball carrier so with the force of the impact is lessened because both players are running in the same direction. Very rarely does a player get stiff armed running straight into an oncoming ball carrier. The ball carriers better move in that case is to juke around or lower their shoulder into the oncoming defender.
