If you're a fan of:
Hugh Freeze (0 champs): 38-10 beat down to Florida, 37-24 loss to Memphis, and a 53-52 loss to Arkansas
Dan Mullen (0): LSU 21-19 , A&M 30-17, and Bama 31-6
Kevin Sumlin (0): Bama 41-23, Ole Miss 23-3, and Auburn 26-10
Mark Richt (0): Bama 38-10, Tennessee 38-31, and Florida 27-3.
Jim McElwain (0): LSU 35-28, but beat Vandy 9-7, FAU 20-14 in OT, and Kentucky 14-9
Les Miles (1): Bama 30-16, Ark 31-14, and Ole Miss 38-17
Gus Malzahn and Bret Bielema both have 5 losses

Yes we have lost 3 in a row and have an atrocious offense, but we haven't been held under 14 points the entire season. Every other coach above has.
No we aren't dominant Bama, but who says we are entitled to be? LSU has 3 titles while Bama has 15. Yes it was 10 years ago, but Saban then couldn't do what he's doing at Bama at LSU. 4 out of his 5 seasons at LSU had 3 losses or more.
When are expectations set too high?

Name a season in recent years where we have improved week over week in chemistry, execution or minimal penalties? That is the mark of good coaching...Les is held accountable to ensuring his assistant coaches are improving the product on the field week over week. When that doesn't happen, he should make changes. Les has been reluctant to make timely changes and it has cost him...this is a results oriented business

Without question a new coach will make us better. SEC has the simple recipe to defeat Miles offense. Miles can't change because that's all he has is the playbook handed to him.

Miles cannot adapt to anything new. That's why a new coach is better day 1.

Downvoting does not change the facts
That he can't adapt.

Could go both ways. Rain championships or be banished to the sunbelt

I don't think the actual "coaching" will be a concern, it will be securing the recruiting boarders and bringing other high end talent

OP, let me ask you a question: Is the LSU football program trending up or down? Are we achieving success on the field that's equal to our recruiting success? Has the offense and defense improved? Have we improved in QB development? How about bowl game wins?

LSU, with the talent it recruits, should be competitive in the West every year...now we're playing 4th behind Ole Miss and Arky.

Can you name a program that was on the slide and was resurrected by the same coach? Me neither.

No, the idea is to make a weaker program.

Hugh Freeze (0 champs):

Since you want to confuse the argument with facts...

Freeze took over Ole Miss when it was a dumpster fire and built it to a respectable program that is getting a lot of hard looks by top recruits now. Miles was handed the keys to the Lamborghini.

I have to admit when this issue came up I thought about him and what he might be able to do with LSU and its money, facilities, and talent pool... Oh yeah, he obviously can recruit too.

interesting fact: I bet you didn't know that Freeze makes the same as CLM and has a higher bonus achievable at Ole Miss.

4 of the 5 last years have been 10 win seasons or more so I would say steady. We have 3 starting freshmen o-linemen and a sophomore quarterback in his first season in the best division in college football...the defense is in their first year with a new DC.

Bama has had the number 1 recruiting class the past 4 years. Clemson has gone 15,15,17,and 8 the past 4 years. Recruiting only helps so much. However LSU, is trending up going 14,6,2,6 and currently 1 right now.

There are going to be problems, and every great coach has gone on a slide. Even Bear Bryant had consecutive 5 loss seasons at Bama.

Not going to win 10 this season so you're incorrect. It will also have been three years since one of those double digit win seasons so the trend is downward.

LSU, is trending up going 14,6,2,6 and currently 1 right now.
And yet the win totals are trending downward.

Yup. He had consecutive five loss seasons in 69 and 70 after winning four SEC titles and three national championships in the previous eight.
