I remember Mike Anderson's had special posters printed up after that game. It had a pic of a mob of Tigers tackling a Bama player. It was a great win.

No posters were made for the State game that year. My one and only trip to Starkville.

I watched it at a hotel in Vidalia after crossing over the bridge from the Landmass and our hunting camp. Was a great weekend.

I guess it was pay-per-view, if I hadn't had seen that in earlier posts I would have swore Jefferson Pilot.

Years later watched an Arky beatdown like 52-20 or something (2003?) in the same hotel, crossing the same bridge, for the same reason.

Awesome win for LSU in 1982. It ended a string of frustrating games. However, in 1997, the Tigers went to the crapstain and whipped them 27 to 0. LSU dominated the game and the fans got to party in that shithole town without any ball rubbing tree killers in site.

Let's do it again ...

no Ritter was 8 years old at the time, and was at that game, and he swore that one day he would enact his vengeance on LSU

The year that Bama still doesn't get to 50% against LSU this century even if they somehow manage to win ?:

Yep, and Bear Bryant got arrested for beating his wife after the game. He asked her what time it was and she said
"20 to 10"

I've been thinking about that game all week also. That game was not televised on a network like the Bama game usually was then (usually an ABC afternoon game) so we watched it on a pay for view basis at The Prince Murat on Nicholson.

Isn't that the same hotel that Jim Leslie was killed at?

Wouldn't the meltdown be epic if LSU won followed by Saban leaving.

LSU is angry and will be ready to steamroll. I expect us to show out big this game. Most confident I've been in a long time. Our OL is extremely physical and I think will wear them down towards the end of the game.

Bama's defense can be scored on. We put 35 on Florida even though we shut the offense down in the second half. I think we go full throttle and beat Bama 42-21. It's time for some real payback courtesy of an arse whoopin'.

i remember that game. i was in third grade. my first year playing football. my grandpa was a huge alabama fan. he was so mad after that game, lol.

another game that stands out to me is the 93 game. we needed that win just to not be a complete joke of a program after hallman's shitshow in 92. probably hallman's biggest win.

I was little, but I still remember that game. My parents HATED Bama, and as a result of that, I did and still do to this day. 20-10 will be etched on my tombstone.

That victory over the Bear sparked what has been a period of dominance by LSU over 'Bama in road games, winning 11 of the past 16. Now if we could only start a streak like that at home next season.
