Cancelled our flight and rental car. Leaving Tuesday. First stop Memphis, Chicago, then Green Bay. So pumped now. Eat BBQ, Do a river Tour and have some drinks in Chicago at a rooftop bar.... then party with our fans and watch LSU kick Wisconsin's arse!!

If you're looking for things to do in Chicago, Milwaukee, or Green Bay, and/or looking for input on where to park on gameday, you should start separate threads for those.

It is a brutal drive through Mississippi, Missouri and Illinois. Good luck We live about 2 miles from I-55 in Bloomington, Il. You will be passing through here on the trip.

Boring if your company sucks. Love road trips with the right people.

Consider it a relative venture. Road trips are fun, yes. But road trips through central Illinois vs. road trips down the coast of California...

Disagree with Missouri. The boot heel and the rolling hills in SEMO are very nice.

Northeast Arkansas on the other hand, blows.

OP, if you're heading north from BR, take 61 through the Natchez Trace before rejoins 55 in Jackson. It'll add maybe an hour to the drive but is 10x better than the scenery you get by taking 12 to 55 in Hammond.

We are supposed to be flying out Thursday afternoon. If anything happens with this storm and my flights may be cancelled, going to be a road trip for us as well. Or a road trip to ATL and fly from there.

Parking in Chiraq is expensive. Be prepared for that. Also the toll roads into town (at least from Indiana) suck dick. It's a $14 round trip toll wise for me

Yes it is and I love road trips but there was NOTHING to see on this route. Took it last year for the Hot Rod Power Tour. But it was great when we got to Chicago.

I know...told the wife we may be divorced by the time we get back!ha
And that is how the road trip plan started. We were making plan B in case the storm hit, and then play B sounded more fun then plan A....so we just decided to drive.

Will be fun. Wife has never been to Beale Street or Chicago.

We are doing this for sure. I have been to Chicago several times, but never did the boat tour.

If the wife is hot and teases the frick out of you on the trip, it's a good trip. I'd drive, too.
