I thought the adjustment in 3rd quarter with some read option plays and option for TE in flat was a good look. Qb draw was a strong play too. He designed running opportunities for Daniels in 2nd half and it was effective.

They talked about this during the game. They said that they do cater to Daniels and which plays he says he’s comfortable with. People complain about us not passing downfield, but then also complain about us not catering to a QB that doesn’t seem comfortable passing downfield. You can’t have it both ways in that situation.

This team has a lot of issues, but they’re still finding ways to win. Yes, I expect us to lose more games this season. Yes, watching this offense is a bit frustrating. No, I don’t know what the solution is. That’s tough because I think everyone holds a bit of that responsibility: Daniels needs to learn how to read defenses better, the WRs need to secure catchable balls, and Denbrock can put his QB in a better position. But again, this is a patchwork team. We got better 3 weeks in a row, then took a big step back in our first SEC road game, in a hostile environment. Jorden-Hare is always a tough place for LSU. Yet, we found a way to win. Maybe that’ll spark a little bit more confidence and we take another step forward next week.

Ashford looked a lot more poised and ran to escape pressure, while still looking downfield and as a result made more explosive plays. I think we had maybe 1 play of more than 20 yards. JD can learn a lot by watching how Ashford played.
Really good take, My Man.

I understand when the game is on the line in a crucial situation, you run what the QB is comfortable with because it's usually down to 1 play or maybe a series. But to go an entire game simply running what the QB likes, that definitely explains why our offense looks limited and predictable. Fans are criticizing Denbrock but clearly he's not fully running the offense he wants to.

JD should not be asked to go through progressions, call some sort of options most of the time.
they tried that the first drive. Quick passes, easy throws. The problem is that Auburn knows from film that Daniels refuses to throw it downfield. So, Auburn played a tight coverage on short passes anticipating exactly what transpired.

Denbrock might be a bad OC. But, Daniels is garbage. He refuses to throw the ball more than 5 yards. That severely limits the available playcalls.

This was a big difference. I only remember Daniels doing this once to Thomas on the sideline.

denbrock is DOG shite.

Baloney! If our OC and Special Teams coaches are the wrong guys, then the Head Coach is too. And Kelly is not the wrong guy.

They don’t have a very good QB, and you can’t look good on offense without one. It’s simple.

It’s frustrating. Just do what he can do.

Kelly: Jayden what plays are you not comfortable with out there?

Jayden: pass plays

End of story.

What?

That doesn't even make sense.

Coaches can hire the wrong coaches.

Polian is a kiss arse and was brought over from notre dame.

Denbrock wasn't kelly's first choice.

I do think daniels is making denbrock look worse than he is but denbrock isn't some great oc.

Denbrock had a good QB in Desmond Ridder at Cincy and not nearly as tough of a schedule as he does in the SEC.

If Denbrock adapted to Daniel’s skill set we would be running the triple option!!

Last night during the game it was reported that they asked Daniels what plays he felt comfortable with and that's what they're running. It was stated that BK said they basically removed the plays he's not comfortable executing.

I don’t recall hearing this during the broadcast?

Who reported this and who is “they”?

Link?

Really makes no sense at all. I was thinking last night the system / play calling looks to be a better fit for nuss but he can't seem to execute consistently

As bad, if not worse, as a Coach Orgeron hire during his last 2 seasons.
