Honestly too much nibbling during the season.

We’re going right at batters now.

Why was Ole Miss horrendous all year last year until they won the national title? Sometimes it takes all season for something to click.

Bigger ball park better for pitching and not as hitter friendly , ackenhausen even said something about not worrying about throwing some pitches last night because of the park

Because WesJohnson was developing pitches instead of trying to get them to peak. When the season was ending he switched to peaking them.

They are adhering to one gameplay - throw strikes. They don't seem to be as fearful throwing hittable pitches and seem to trust their stuff + a) larger ballpark + b) wind blowing in.

Because Jay was repeatedly throwing guys to see if he could rely on them after the Shores/Edwards losses. I have no clue how 95% of the board doesn’t see that. Guys who weren’t being used when Shores and Edwards were healthy had to get in a rhythm and Jay had to completely switch our bullpen up midsession after their injuries. He eventually quit pitching the guys who sucked and we’re down to the cream of the crop of our bullpen now. It was never as bad as it seemed

I think part of it is a bigger strike zone compared to SEC play.

Some of these young guys needed experience, and they have improved throughout the season. Some of those tough moments throughout the season are very valuable. I also think Wes has done an incredible job despite the early struggles.
