Apparently Alleva didn't have the balls to follow through if he couldn't get Jimbo.
Unbelievable.
I cannot believe it came down to winning or losing against Texas A&M as to whether Miles kept his job or not.

Jimbo is super safe. Chip Kelly's downside is to high. He is an a-hole who would be tough to control. He is getting hammered by black NFL stars and believe that trickles down. He doesn't have the experience and ties in the Deep South.
Jimbo is as close to a can't miss as there is.

Well I hope you don't mind if I copy and paste this response in as many threads as needed because you are apparently the only one (with the exception of me) that had this same thought which is correct.

You don't spend $10-million+ to get rid of Les and hire anything but a home run.

Because there is no way you can fire the most successful coach in school history after a 9 win season unless you hire someone who is better. Jimbo was the only coach who is better right now. Kelly would be terrible at LSU and Alleva knows that. You cant hire an up and coming coach because its too risky. Alleva is trying to keep a job too.
