I understand he had a crucial charge and turnover late in the game, but at least he was trying. Guess it's better to shoot a contested NBA 3 like TQ?

Most of our team, especially our "superstars", lack a killer instinct. That cannot be coached. You're up 13 in the 2nd half and let the other team come back.

Let's talk about 1/13 from 3 in the 2nd half. What can CJJ do, take the players out? There's plenty of blame to go around. Sure some mismanagement on the coach's part, Gray had a couple of late bad turnovers, TQ thinks he's Ray Allen, Martin is about as soft as Charmin, etc etc. Not giving up on this team, but that was a frustrating way to lose

Gray puts himself above the team.

Gray thinks he is Michael Jordon and not a role player

He makes too many crucial mistakes. Quarterman has been big time this year

I totally agree, at least Gray is trying to totally transform his game, Quarterman on the other hand needs to understand his role. He is a slasher, driver, rebounder, good on defense. NOT A SHOOTER.

He needs to realize who the shooters are, that is the edge J. Patterson has on Quarterman, understanding of the game. Basketball IQ.

That game is on gray. He sucked it up today. He turns the ball over so fricking much I'd bench his arse.

He is guilty of everything you said about everyone else, and he basically handed them the game. That pretty much explains it.

He runs the iso play his coach calls. The one that won the game at west va. Win as a team. Lose as a team.

This is not his first game in making horrible turnovers. He's done this all season long. He's not playing JC ball any longer & what he did there he can not do in the SEC. A LOT of his turnovers are unforced, too. At the end of the day, with his record, this falls on JJ's shoulders as HC.

You didn't even watch the game bro.

Gray made bonehead plays ALL day. I remember seeing his turnover stat was only 2 at halftime and I just laughed. It should have been 4-5. He has been brutal in our 2 losses.

I said in the game thread that Gray was to blame before he even turned it over on the last possession.

Really? How about call a TO and make it a point of emphasis to stop settling for rushed 3's instead of just staring blankly while your large lead evaporates

Find a HS coach in the BR area that knows how coach an offense against a zone defense. Every game teams eventually zone LSU. And every game LSU settles for 3's against it. Martin couldn't be bothered to flash to the FT line with any sort of purpose, and the ball just lazily moves around the peremiter with no appraent effort to get the defense out of position

Find a way to get your best player (whoever that is) free for a late game shot. Hell, ask Andy Kennedy. He had no trouble figuring it out.

SEC coaches run circles around Jones. Settle in this week, your about to watch two of the better ones in the league put on a clinic

I'm a firm believer in not one player loses a game at the end. The whole team should have done more DURING the game so we weren't in that position. People also so quickly forget about the WVU game. The turnover was very bad, had the right idea but did it too late. The charge, good defense by them, not gonna blame him for that.

This is what is maddening. The things he got away with in JC he thinks he can do in sec.

He tries to be the man every time he touches the ball.
Behind the back dribble when being doubled?
Or how about trying to pass out to the 3 when triple teamed in the lane.
He's a jeckyl and Hyde player. Great when good but awful when he's off.

ESPN3 is clutch, pal.

9 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 turnovers. Yea, he didn't play great but how is that "brutal"? So how was Martin's game since it was almost the same stat line except with more points on 33% shooting

Yes, very heady play there. 50 seconds left, 1 point lead, fresh shot clock. Run some time off the game clock with the lead and try to get a good shot later in the shot clock? Nah...we'll just try to split a double-team for a contested floater with 27 on the shot clock.

This is why it's on Jones, not Gray, regardless of how crappy he played today.

He tries hard as some have said, but is left with few options since his coach has virtually no influence on the game.

Just hilarious how much hate Gray gets. He doesn't play nearly as bad as y'all make him out to be. TQ gets a pass because he's played well in other games? Did Gray get praised for the Ole Miss game on how great he played? How about Martin only showing up for 1 SEC game? TQ was ATROCIOUS today, and I love me some TQ.

I like all our players a lot. I'm a firm believer we are 1 year away, but many people want to blow smoke up our player's asses. Today proved so much Martin is not ready.

My point is, Josh Gray did not come close to losing us that game today.

What other offense did we have? You can blame Jones about not calling up a play, but our last several minutes of the game, our only offense was fadeaway shots. I'd rather attack, no matter the time on the clock
