It worked out since we won but why did Poole get the nod down the stretch over Carson or even Poa? Defense maybe? Was there an injury?

It just seems like if she was in there to shoot, Carson would have been a better option and if she was in there to pass, Poa would have been a better option. Regardless, Shooting would definitely have helped against their zone and Carson is our best shooter.

Rotations were weird last night. Honestly, could have been the sloppiest basketball game I’ve ever watched.

Zone offense was very offensive. Surely that’s easily fix what was KM thinking.

I don’t think the coaches did a good job with the rotations last night but the game plan to attack a matchup zone was not good at all. They were pretty stagnant all night on offense

Kim said she didn’t think Carson was going to get any clean looks against that zone but they probably could have gotten much better looks if they attacked the zone better.

Just looked like one of those games where everyone seemed tired and not there mentally

Coach Mulkey was asked that very question by the media in the post-game presser. Check it out, it’s posted now on TD.

This. KM gave a great and brilliant answer. Too long to type.

Couch said Poole is a strong passer and had a good chance of passing the ball into the zone. Also said she is very strong driving to the basket and that her body type could help when banging around on defense.

THIS!!! She repeatedly left the 3 point shooter uncovered last night. Poole is much more aggressive and aware defensively.

That's my only critique on the coaching staff. Poole is such a liability out there. She is a turnover waiting to happen. She's a terrible passer, constantly throwing into defenders hands. Tries to dribble behind the back and crossover when its unneccessary which leads to bouncing of her or the defenders foot constantly. An average shooter at best. On the defensive side shes too slow to keep up with SEC caliber guards. Carson and Poa both are better options.

CKM said the exact opposite in her post game presser. I trust her assessment of her players, plus Carson kept leaving the 3 point shot wide open last night. Both can improve some things

She has capability of making good passes for sure, but she makes bad decisions when passing that lead to bad turnovers that lead to fast break points the other way.

Bottom line is if we are in need of good ball handling and passing, Poa is the best option.

If we are in need of points and pure shooting/creating a shot, Carson is the best option.

Once again Poole is certainly capable but just isnt even close to the best option.

Something was working with that lineup. Poole's +/- stat was +16 . That's impressive in a close game.

It was tough to watch. That said, when watching college WBB, I always have to take a deep breath and ground myself on what I'm watching.

I'm a total basketball retard when it comes to Xs and Os. But I've watched every Lady Tiger Game this year(4 in person).
I'm a fan of what Poole brings to the game but was really wondering where Carson was all game.

Am I wrong to think We could have REALLY used her range particularly the 3 pointers?

Angel Reese is obviously long and athletic. To me, she does not make a lot of strong moves to the basket or box out and get strong rebounds like Smith. Many of her rebounds are from her own missed shots within five feet.

I mean she’s all around good, but with her style of play, I am worried she will run into a stone wall vs. South Carolina’s double post of Boston and Amihere.

I hope I’m wrong but I believe those two are going to totally shut Reese down.

I’ll chalk it up as an off night.Carson was 1-7 from two and 1-6 from three. She wasn’t playing good defense and didn’t have a rebound or an assist.
Although she doesn’t take a ton of them, Poole actually leads the team in 3 point % (44%)

I can't figure this out either, to me she should be the third option down the stretch. We have to have good shooters in the game to keep our opponents honest. We are seeing the teams pack in the defense and play very physical against us down low. We have to have some outside shooting to make the defense come out to guard the 3 point line
