Surprised no one has mentioned Kibry Smart. Bama has the top D over the last six years. He's young, a good recruiter, and it would hurt Bama. Why not?

why would he make a lateral move to an inferior program to play with inferior talent that doesn't fit his 3-4 scheme?

Because he would turn us down likely and that doesn't look good. It's a sideways move and we don't actually know how well he'd do without Saban. You know Saban has the control over that defense. I think the only way he leaves is for a HC gig unless he feels he needs to prove he can run a D without Saban's help.
