I know we were offered a bid to play but our athletic directer is trying to act like we are to prestigious or something. If 16-17 University of Texas isn't or purdue then neither are we. It would have been a great opportunity for our guys who busted their butts this year play a few more games. It sickens me we declined

Money?

It is a huge money loser and I think the AD made a business decision.

It would have been nice to have ended the season in a different way than being blown-out by Florida. That left a bad taste in the mouth of some our guys.
That kind of feeling can really motivate some players.
I don't know if they can carry that feeling that all the way to next season.

If the coaches and team wanted to play some more, it's unfair of the AD to deny them.

This is ridiculous that our AD turned down a chance for postseason play.

LSU was never going to accept a bid to that tournament.

And they shouldn't. I don't know why some people are freaking out about it.

Not sure if you're directing that comment at me as a band wagoner or not?.
If so, you obviously don't know me and that I'm as far from a band wagon "fan" as you can get.

For e.g. I just got back from Nashville (long drive) and was at Texas A&M the previous week.

Because best case scenario, we prove we're the 100th best team in the nation. Big whoop. We'll lose a bunch of money, celebrate mediocrity, and risk possible injuries for no reason. What would everyone say if Alleva accepted the bid and JOB III or Hickey have a career-hampering or ending injury a la Nerlins Noel?

Not worth the money. We likely would've had to travel in the 1st rd because the women are hosting. No SEC team has ever played the CBI.

They lose money but all bowls give you exposure which the CBI doesn't.
